Anyone here have time with the Sub MOA line up. I have a coworker who is looking to spent money on a 223 I've found both of these two guns to be almost the same price. He of course is getting this for bench shooting at various distances most likely never beyond 500 yds. I've got a Rem. 700 and have opened his eyes to a few more choices for about the same money. below are a couple links just to not mislead anyone with my question. Whats going to be a better gun for varmint hunting and why. This would be his first true bench gun. Thanks
Depends on the range he'll be looking to shoot at. The Weatherby has, I believe, a 1 in 12 twist and the FN has the 1 in 9 twist.
Both are too slow for decent long range performance and restricting you to probably a maximum bullet weight of 70 grains in the 1:9 and accurate range of 2-300 yards.
If that was the only choice then I'd go for the FNH.
