ppks 9mm

I just recieved a Walther ppks 9mm pistol;(or is it ppk 9mms);either way i thought great since i have about a tousand rounds of left over 9mm .However it will not shoot 9mm but shoots 380 ammo.Since it was free and shoots really sweet and is dead on accurate i was thinking i may keep it. Does anyone know anything about it and what is your opinion of the gun? I read in some article it is pretty useless as a ccweapon for personal saftey, but i can't believe that.

The .380 is a formidable ccw weapon. Load it up with some good hydra-shock rounds and it will do the trick.
It's a close quarter shooter not long range.
I carry a Taurus PT-58 .380 and I feel safe with it.

Thats was my thinking too. I read more people are killed with 22's than any other round. I used to go shooting with my brother and all his police officer buddies. They used to make fun of my Taurus 25 auto, till i shot them under the table at all distances at the range.if you take the time to learn how to handle your weapon any gun can be formidable.

After all is said and done. More is said than done.

Well...so much for Walther (and S&W) credibility...the PK380 did not make a debut during September. I guess they simply tell their consumer what they think we want to hear instead of standing tall and telling the truth.
But to give the Business Director of Walther (also the Marketing Director of S&W) the benefit of doubt...He/she only stated the month of September...NOT the year!
I guess it would be best to cancel my order...eh?

Anyone have a P22?

I bought one this summer since I needed something that shot cheaper ammo and like to target shoot. The P22 is a really accurate, fits my hand well and just feels right. It even has a bit of recoil. I seems to like any ammo I put in it. I've been using Remington golden bullets in the 500+ pack and the Federal golden bullets in the 550 pack and a few CCI Stingers and Mini-mags. It likes whatever I stick in it!

Your are right!! I forgot that I tried some "matched target" bullets, Wolf, and Federal. They may be perfect, but they don't have enough power to eject the empty.

pk-380's are out. I bought mine about two weeks ago, still haven't shot it but I think it will be a great ccdw. Its almost the same size as a p-22 just a little wider. Check gunbroker.

I received my two today.
One First Edition and one Standard.
The holster that comes with the First Edition is a nylon that will serve the CCW very well. It has a perfect fit with the PK380 and the P22. Has a belt loop and a short thumb strap. I'm recommending to Walther to add these holster on the accessory listing for both pistols.
I haven't shot either yet but will do so tomorrow.
Slightly larger than the P22 but has a great fit and feel in the hand.
