Speaking of mobile homes... I used to be a contractor but I dont know jack about mobiles I was thinking about buying one so I could move it onto property later. Anyone here have any experience about how long do they hold up with routine maint?

The one I had was made in the fifties, it is still being used on a lake lot. Like anything else I suppose with maintenance it will last. Different manufactures probably made better products than others... I havent had that trailer in over 16 years so I'm probably not the person to ask, but I do know it is still on a lot and being used on weekends.

My wife and I own a singlewide rental built in the sixties; it's still quite liveable. And the ones they build now are miles above the old ones. Stronger floors and walls, better roofs, better plumbing and insulation....you name it.

there used to be one of those great big hide-a-beds in my new living room.
it was too heavy for me to do anything with.
i just took it apart with a sledge hammer and threw it outside.
