New virus!! - Confirmed old virus no need to panic

Hi All,

I checked with Norton Anti-Virus, and they are gearing up for this virus!
I checked Snopes, and it is for real. Get this E-mail message sent around to all your contacts ASAP.

PLEASE FORWARD THIS WARNING AMONG YOUR FRIENDS, FAMILY AND CONTACTS!

You should be alert during the next few days. Do not open any message with an attachment entitled 'POSTCARD FROM HALLMARK,'regardless of who sent it to you. It is a virus which opens A POSTCARD IMAGE, which 'burns' the whole hard disc C drive of your computer.

Not sure if it is for real just a heads up to all on gunandgame...

This virus will be received from someone who has your e-mail address on his/her contact list. That is the reason why you need to send this e-mail to all your contacts. It is better to receive this message 25 times than to receive the virus and open it!

If you receive a mail called' POSTCARD,' even if it is sent to you by a friend, do not open it! Shut down your computer immediately. This is the worst virus announced by CNN.

It has been classified by Microsoft as the most destructive virus ever. This virus was discovered by McAfee yesterday, and there is no repair yet for this kind of virus. This virus simply destroys the Zero Sector of the Hard Disc, where the vital information is kept.
COPY THIS E-MAIL, AND SEND IT TO YOUR FRIENDS.
REMEMBER: IF YOU SEND IT TO THEM, YOU WILL BENEFIT ALL OF US

Did some looking around, sounds like that one's a year or so old, but always a good idea to be vigilant I guess, or just buy a mac...problem solved.

They are great, and it's not like there are not viruses made to attack a mac, there are, not nearly as many though, and with PC it's so easy that to make them, why trouble yourself with a mac...there's millions more pc's out there and they are simple to attack. Plus, with so many dummies opening suspicious emails it's like shootin ducks in a barrel.

It's not that it's hard, it's just that Apple has such a small market share, why bother? Windows pretty much has a 90% market share, you'll hit more machines with a Windows virus than you will with a virus meant to hit Apples. It's really not that hard to avoid viruses and spyware on a Windows machine. I don't even run AV or Spyware Removal programs unless I think I actually have something, which hasn't happened yet.

Macs are good if you need to have the software that is only on a Mac or if that's just your preference for whatever reason. In all honesty, if you want one, build a Hackintosh. It will cost you a fraction of the price of a genuine Mac. Don't let the name fool you either, it's completely legit. You can buy a copy of the OS from Apple or through your local college/university if you want it for less(if you're a student). Steve Jobs just seems to think his hardware walks on water or something and uses false word of mouth advertising to try and fool people into thinking it's some how better and that justifies the price.
