Chinese SKS.

A guy I work with offered me a Chinese SKS for $125. The price sounds good to me considering how much the Romys and Yugos run at the gun shop. I haven't seen the rifle yet so I don't know it's condition. I don't really need it but I wouldn't mind having an SKS.

Would you guys pursue this any farther if you were me?

Yup! For that price it is a steal I would say! ESPECIALLY in todays market.

Wait... It is a terrible price. In fact, please give me his number so I can call him and let him know not to try to screw his friends over like that any more.

Hehe....

Why not give him a small down payment, after looking at it of course, to make sure it hasn't been bubba'd, to hold it for you?

HAHAHAHAH!!! Any time old buddy old pal. lol. But seriously, good for you man! I am still kicking myself in the butt over the only two guns I ever sold. My M44 and my Yugo SKS. Sold the M44 for 110 bucks including about 500 rounds about 18 months ago and sold the SKS to the same guy at the same time for 140 bucks including the original dust cover and the scope mount dust cover. I hadn't been looking at prices recently since I had no money but needed it. I figured that they were a dime a dozen and could just replace them after my son was born and things had settled back in. Man was I pissed when I got online the next week just to see the prices they were going for lately. At the time, the SKS was going for about 250. The M44 was still pretty cheap, but 7.62x54r had skyrocketed! Oh well, no reason to look back now. Have fun and lets see some pics when you get it!

I would if I could, and providing he'd go for that, but I blew out a tire the other day so now my gun money is being temporarily re-appropriated.

I would "kind of figure" on offering to cut the guy's grass, change the oil in his car, and walk his dog until I got the $125. Don't let that one slip by ...

I can't. I'm already doing indentured servitude for a Glock 19 and two AKs! I think I may need counseling for my addiction, maybe I'll go to the gun shop.

Even in a "bubba" condition it's worth $125 as long as it functions!

Buy it!

The gun shop would be the recommended place for "gun addiction counseling".

I recommend going there and dumping on the psychiatrist on the other side of the counter. Perhaps he'll write you a prescription for a new FN-FAL or an M14 (After fees payable of course ).

For that price you could send it out to be refinished if you truely like it. I find they are a bit rougher in quality than the Yugos and Russian ones, but I like mine and it shoots just as good as the others.
