Because I care that people are making an issue out of something so trivial.

Troy, you always fight for Obama saying he was voted in by the majority.

Well, in that sense, here we have the majority who have verbally voted that they do not want our government to praise and hold some ceremony honoring a communistic nation on the grounds of one of the most important places in our country. So, Troy, you are outvoted, deal with it...as I've seen you say about Obama to non-supporters. HMM?

I could understand the Union Jack, but not any other.
You obviously haven't caught up to the P.C. modus operandi of the current administration. Think Kinder Care. We will talk to anyone and everyone regardless their behavior or current relationship with us. It is too rude to not greet them with open arms and a warm smile. We must be the example for the world even if we get trodden on in the process. No one will be forced to take their toys and go home.

And it's definitely past time we stopped the Bush nonsense of refusing to talk to other countries unless they already agree with us.

If you're saying that once the majority has expressed an opinion the minority no longer has a right to a dissenting one, you don't really have a handle on how democracy (or civil discourse) works.

I don't consider having a gaggle of political True Believers trying to shout me down to be any sort of a legitimate 'vote' anyway; sorry.

Bush is back in office ????

Obama is just like Jimmie Cartah. I'll lov'em into submission. See my smile.

Bush was like Reagan. Remember Khomeini's freeing the hostages a few minutes after Reagan was sworn in. They knew.

How you can justify a nation wanting to talk to known terrorists is beyond the comprehension of most Americans, including me.

Paragraph 1) I think this goes to the root of the unrest at town hall meetings. Good point depending upon perspective.

Paragraph 2) Speaking of "True believers", have you taken your Obama oath yet?

Remember Reagan's people going behind Carter's back and talking to the Iranians, to ensure the hostages didn't get released in time for the election? Look up the October Surprise Conspiracy, the Algiers Accord, etc. If you think the Iranians coughed up the hostages because they were scared of Reagan, instead of because they were bought off with arms and the unfreezing of American-held Iranian assets, you're sadly mistaken.

For Part 2, look up the Arms for Hostages deal that Oliver North was involved with later. It certainly wasn't fear of Reagan that got those hostages released, either.

How you can justify a claim we shouldn't talk to major countries in the world just because we have areas of disagreement is beyond me. Did we ever stop talking to the Russians? For that matter, we never even stopped talking to the Germans and Japanese during WWII.

And wouldn't it be kind of hard to continue trading with the Chinese, if we stopped talking to them?
