Nice Entry! One of these days I'm going to hunt in a locale that harbors Fox Squirrel. Yep! One of these days.

| My 3rd entry!
Got out of the college today with enough time to head back to the timber and bag another bushy tail red. This one is (was) a female... big girl, must be kin to the one from the other day...
Looks like an even bigger tail guys... I know there are some bruisers still all over down there... used the 20ga old JC Higgins bolt action deer gun with #6 high brass to cut through the limbs and leafs today! Cant wait till the leaves are down and I can actually see the buggers ... through my scope!
Lets get em' comin' in... I KNOW there are some bigger squirrels out there!
AH... you still cant enter anything from little old lady down the roads corn squirrel feeder though... sorry, rules are rules LMAO

The photo counts as 1 tail and so on and we can tally them up from the site later in the competition... its only getting started guys! Keep your eyes on the trees guys!
Tamalpias, gotta get out in the woods to win this one! Heck theres way bigger squirrels out there all over this country.... unless in Hawaii.. but they can have a longest mongoose tail competition... plus they live in Hawaii and shouldnt gripe about much LOL

I saw a squirelly person the other day with a tail that must have been at least a foot long. However, no pictures were taken...in fact I was laughing to much I couldn't have taken a picture of them if I'd wanted to.

We dont get too many greys in this area. LOL ringtails however we got alot of! LOL
Ox, that tail would've automatically WON the competition LOL!
Its heating up guys! I heard of a sweet spot for squirrels not far from my current spot. If it's all I was told, I should be entering a few more!
Best of Luck...
Keep that trigger finger warmed up!~

In fact, we are even suffering a great lack of Grays as of late. No one seems to be able to explain why at present, but not a few hunters are coming home empty handed day after day. It's been over two weeks since our Gray Squirrel season opened, and I've only bagged ONE Gray. We aren't even seeing any roadkill to speak of either, nor is my bird feeder being raided any longer. On the other hand, however, we have Reds in abundance. (Again, the true Red Squirrel.) Looks like I might have to start entering some Red Squirrel tails before too much longer. I could feed a small African nation with all the Reds I am seeing

Gray squirrels have their own catagory! So it is fair to compete. So big grey tail may be considerably shorter than say a Red squirrel, but you could still win the grey competition.

Do the squirrels you guys kill ever have what we call "wolves"? I think they are technically bot fly larvae. They get in the skin and make terrible sores. They seem to be bad down here until after the first frost.

Pretty much turns me off small game hunting until the first frost. The only problem is, that usually doesn't come until late October to early November. That's a lot of wasted season.
