Good Luck guys and keep the guns blazin'!
OH... to be fair to all our camo sporting, gun powder smelling brothers and sisters of the gun, we need to state what species of squirrel you shot as it is not fair for someone living in a region that only has grey squirrels to compete with a red or fox squirrel. SO... unless I am wrong, there are only 3 species in the United States that I know of... red, grey and fox? If you reside in another country around this big blue globe you are more than welcome to enter too... but include the species...
JUST LIKE BOONE AND CROCKETT! LOL this should be a truly official contest!
good luck and may all your spent casings and shells be on their mark! | I thought that Fox WERE red squirrels, also, in Colorado they have black squirrels that have little tufts of hair on the ears like a lynx, I think there called douglas but wont swear to it, I used to see them all over the place up in the mountains and now my folks have one or two that come to the bird feeder.

| Slim Pickings!
Been some pretty slim pickings for the month of September. Sure hope we see more (and possibly better) entries during October - especially by me!

Havent been on in a bit... where are the entries guys? LOL... I got skunked last two trips out to the woods, of course was hauling a 33 lb deer mineral block and setting up for deer season LOL!
If leaves would fall, I know there are some monsters down there, got my .22wmr and bushnell scope dialed in... I am ready to pop some squirrel heads! LOL
driftingrz nobody has entered a grey squirrel yet, so you could be the leader if your smaller squirrels are greys... plus a grey is better eating in my book, but we got mostly reds round here

| Too bad...
It would appear the Long Tail Contest didn't quite take off as it seemed it might. Still, nonetheless, a number of entries were posted. Jerry's Red (Fox squirrel) looks pretty impressive. Good job, Jerry!

Hey, I just became a member recently and stumbled upon this great contest. Had I known about this sooner I would have hung on to some of other gray squirrels tails that I've taken recently .
Anyways I took this squirrel yesterday who seemed to be a bit chubbier and larger than the rest, including its tail! Here's a few pics!
I'd say this sucker had just under a 14" tail but I'll let you guys be the judge!
This guy was taken with my Savage Mark II and Remington Subsonic ammo

So it looks like your close to win'in a tube of Thrillbillies homemade lip Balm.

Anyways, I'm hoping this competition is still going on since squirrel season has a few more months left. Lets try to get this thread rolling again because it is great to see what others can get!
Hey Cross Hair any word on the competition??

So it looks like your close to win'in a tube of Thrillbillies homemade lip Balm. | Actually, there have been a few Gray Squirrel entries that beat out the 11 5/8" mark. However, none close to the 14" recently submitted. Nice job with that one!
Squirrel season (Gray squirrel) ended here in NH yesterday at 1/2 hour after sundown, and it's going to be a long time until Sept. 1, 2010. Ah! But Red squirrel are open year around here.
