The officers are in my prayers and I think of the cop on the street frquently. I am glad you are allright too my friend. Let us know if anything is needed by Officer Murray or his family, I will be the first to offer aid. I am also glad that human piece of **** is dead. What a total zero! And isn't it funny how these whackjobs always have a mug shot on file?

| Senior Member | I've not, for personal reasons, read the article and I won't. *1, I will pray for our brothers and I know all things will be well in the long run. I remember, to this very day, the very first time I put on the badge. It was a proud, proud moment and day. But, I also knew the risk I was taking. That was then....when the majority of folk respected and admired the guy or gal behind the badge. Today, it's different but one thing remains constant..........."I might not be the only man....but I'm the man that can be counted on" and I will always know that is true! God bless them and you, 1!

| Senior Member | How did the perp get the two officers' guns out of the holsters? I was under the impression that these days, most officers used the Safariland hlster that prevented situations like this. Also, I'm wondering if this may have been one of those "suicide by cop" scenarios... |

| Moderator ![]() | The rookie that gunned the guy down did it with four bullets in him. That's a true fighting spirit. I wear a Safariland Level III holster as mentioned above. They jerks practice with the thing while in the slammer so they can get the gun when they get out. If you go for my gun, I am going to kill you. Bottom line. That's the way we are trained. I can't say what happened at the scene 'cause I wasn't there though. Things go bad real fast sometimes. As of now, all are still alive. Thanks for the thoughts, comments and prayers. 1*

| Super Moderator ![]() | The Safariland holster is one of the best security holsters on the market and these perp's always practice new things - I know how tough it is to draw from these even if you are wearing it so they have some good skill. The officers who survived - I hope they pull through and I hope they can train others in how they got the guns away. The one who continued to fight with 4 rounds in him I have to respect he knows that he should always fight and I am glad he did.

| Moderator ![]() | I can only guess and assume, but I think the detective who responded to the call was plain clothed, and was cold-cocked right off the bat. Probably not wearing a security level holster. According to the reports, he was the first one to have his Glock taken from him. I'm guessing that he got the crap knocked out of him by the first punch and then had his weapon taken from him while stunned. The second gun removed by the perp was taken from an officer who had already been shot.......at least that's how the updated story goes at this point........I can only repeat what I have read and heard from other officers.

| Senior Member ![]() | 1*, this may sound hokey, but watch your back on how much info you pass. Some people get jumpy about some things. You never know who may be looking in. Call me parinoid. Were all concerned, but don't want to do anything that would get you called on the rug. BTW, I like that Canadian Ragweed on your signature block. Saw a video of 'em on CMTV. LMAO, I like the part where they distract the cop from hassleing the kids by lighting up the tires on the worn out Camaro. It's true, your always 17 in your home town.
