| Any good freaky/ghost/unexplainable stories?
I think maybe we did a thread on this a while back, can't really remember. Anyway, I was at Wally World a little bit ago and, when I came outside, there was a young gentlemen there with a table and umbrella, asking for donations for a local kid's program. Being that I virtually always give when asked respectfully, which this kid did, I donated $10. On the ride home, it made me think of this story... About 4 years ago, I was in south Las Vegas. I just got done refilling my propane tank for my grill when a young woman, probably 22 or so, came up to me. As she approached, I took note of her long flowing hair (it looked very Jesus-like, actually, and you'll know why that's important in a minute). She asked if I had any money so she could feed her kids. I pulled out my wallet and gave her a five or ten (don't remember anymore). I was at my door on my truck when I did that. She took the money and said thank you. I jumped in the truck and went to say something back to her out the window but she wasn't there. Gone. Poof. It was very quiet at the station, hardly anyone was there. I actually got out of my truck and looked around to make sure she wasn't under my truck or in the bed. No girl. Gone. It wasn't a second and she vanished, and I could see open area in every direction. FREAKED ME OUT! I remember thinking after that how her voice was so calming, it was eerie. On the ride home, after digesting what I just saw, I couldn't help but thinking that there was a possibility that the person I gave money to wasn't a person at all. I have wondered since that day if I was being tested or something by a higher power. The hair is standing up on the back of my neck even today as I type this. Something very strange about that encounter. I know it sounds goofy, but I have no way of explaining what happened. Anyway, I think all of us experience strange things we can't explain every once in while. Got any good ones? Our family actually had a VERY strange thing happen this past weekend involving a very young child that said she just saw a recently deceased family member, but it seems a little too personal at this point. I'll save that for another time. Anyway, anyone have something freaky that YOU witnessed (not second-hand) that you have trouble explaining?

Yep. I've seen some things that i couldn't explain. my sister and bro in law lived in a haunted house in the country for a few years, they've seen things, i've seen things, the whole family has had experiences out there. the old man who built the place died in the kitchen of a heart attack, and he's still around. He's not malicious more of a prankster, but it can be hair raising if you aren't expecting it

| Stalker of zombie possum. |
About two years ago I was lying in bed awake one Saturday morning and heard footsteps coming down the hallway that leads to our bedroom. It sounded heavy, like someone running down the hallway. it stopped at the bedroom door and all was quiet. The only other person in the house was my wife and she was lying beside me the whole time and she heard it as well.

Moved into our present home 23 years ago. Sometimes at night, I would hear the hallway floor creaking and instead of getting out of bed, I'd just yell for whoever it was to get back in bed. We had 4 teens at the time. This went on for awhile and finally one night I got out of bed to see who it was and no one was there. The kids were all in bed. Later on, my wife would tell me things happening like the cieling fan turning even when it was off. She would watch it in the mirror, but when she turned around, it would stop. Other things like her Pepsi can moving across the table. I blew it all off. One morning, I'm reading the paper at the kitchen table and all of a sudden , a Corell plate exploded on the table. I yelled out, "That's enough of that!". So, off I went for some help. A friend was in town to perform a wedding ceremony for two Native Americans and I told him of our situation. His name, Joe Flying By, a Holy man from the Standing Rock reservation in South Dakota. He told me these were just spirits passing through. Nothing evil about them. He gave me an Eagle feather, abalone shell and some white sage and told me to smudge the house. I lit the sage in the abalone shell and proceeded to smudge each room in the house. The house became quiet after that. Then one night, it all started again and I realized I had not smudged the closet in our youngest son's room, leading to the attic. I lit the sage again and as I opened the closet door, a burst of very cold something shot through me like a knife. It was July at the time. I smudged the closet and attic. To this very day, no more noises or strange occurences have happened. I do not believe in ghosts but I do believe in things that I cannot explain.

| well, the one experience that stands out was on a saturday morning a few years ago. my sister and family had gone into lawrence for some shopping, and i had gone out there to get in some archery practice. i had gone into the house through the back door and i was totally alone. i went outside and started shooting. about an hour into shooting, i felt the hairs on my neck stand straight up and felt like someone was watching me. i turned around and for a split second there was a sillhouette (sp?) of an old man framed in the back door. now i know i was alone and i ran to the house and searched it high and low. never did find anyone else in the house. i didn't feel threatened or anything, it was just creepy. my sister reported that she's seen this shadow at night in the house, and my bro in law won't talk about it.

When I moved into my house, 10 years ago, my wife told me the bedroom door knob would rattle every morning. I never noticed since I would be sleeping and she was getting ready for work. Than one day I heard and for a few days I would make sure I was awake to seel if it was something like a truck driving by at the time. Well I live on a street where the only people who drive on it live on it. I told someone about it and they said next time to yell out "go into the light, you need to cross over". Well I did and I havent heard the knob rattle since. I also had just got my dog when I did the yelling so I dont know what did it.

as far as your child seeing a recently departed family member, i could see it happening. my nephew was 3 at the time they moved into town, and he constantly asked who the old man was in their house. it's amazing what you lose as you get older.

Back in the late 60's me and my girlfriend were sitting in her driveway talking and we both saw a woman float across the front yard and disappear. We could plainly make out her long Victorian style dress, her face and arms only at the bottom of her dress the fogy like whiteness just faded out. I found out later that a woman had died in that house many years before.

The building where I work was built in 1912. One of my co-workers swears he saw out of the corner of his eye and old man standing behind him one early morning in the second story of our building. He said he just stopped what he was doing and then he turned around and the old man was gone. I have had a few things happen to me also. I heard someone in hard soled shoes walking down the front office hallway when all of the lights were out in the hallway. It was very loud and clearly the sound of someone walking down the hallway. At first I thought it was the President of our company going back to his office. He comes in early all of the time. I walked to the front office window and his car was not outside. One of my co-workers heard the same thing weeks before. I was in the bathroom one Friday at around 5:30 p.m. It was in the winter and it was starting to get dark and I had just turned off all of the lights out in the warehouse before I walked into the bathroom. Just as I turned from the sink and started to walk to the open door that leads out to the warehouse. I saw a arm and shoulder of someone standing just outside the door. It moved away out of my site just as I had seen it. I hurried out the door and the room is about 100 ft by 100 ft. and there was no one anywhere I could see. I was in the place one Saturday by myself a few years back and I heard the door between the office and the warehouse open 3 times. The last time I even went outside to see if anyone else had came into work at that time. I was the only one in the building at the time. The gate was still locked and all of the doors where still locked...I have been working there for almost 22 years and I have had several of my guys tell me that they heard and seen things that they couldn't explain.

My old barracks room was haunted from suicides. Some strange crap happened at our end of the building.

My Mum died when I was 15 and I have seen her ghost twice. The first time was in the spring of 1986, about a month after she died, I saw her ghost walk across the hall. The second time was in 2003, I was living with my Sister for a bit after I moved back to the Lower 48 after living in Alaska. I saw a quick flash of what I think was her in the basement. My Dad built the house a few years after he got back from the War in 1950, and she is the only person connected to the house that has died. Those were the only two "sightings" I recall of "seeing" my Mum's "ghost". Now hearing her speak my name...many times, too many to count, but I have not "heard" her for some time now. Also, I have seen the ghost of a very beloved Cat that I had from my pre-teen years until a few years after I got out of the Service. Strange thing is, I see the Cat at the place I am living now...LOL. My future wife has seen the Cat many times as well. I have seen a few other "odd" happenings in my life, and I'm sure I will see more as time goes by. Being of English ancestry, I have always believed in ghosts but my my 86 year old Dad never did, until recently after I told him about seeing my Mother's ghost. Thanks Mark

I saw a UFO once. It was a black, somewhat egg-shaped craft, with what appeared to be some sort of flight-control ailerons made of some sort of mysterious, clear, sorta 'veiny' material. It had a multiple landing gear that appeared to be some sort of articulated design . . . though it may have simply been a horsefly. I was wearing an old welding helmet at the time.

In 1977, Me and My Buddy Mark were in a deer stand in The Ocala National forest about 100 yards from where we parked the jeep. Just before dark we saw a figure all dark and hairy come around the edge of a pond we were watching and walk right towards us...It was a Bigfoot or whatever you want to call it , walking upright , and it walked right under our dual tree stand , and we were about 15 ft up and it was about 8 ft tall best we could tell , and it never saw us. But we saw it and froze with fear...when it was gone we looked at each other and asked if we really both saw that , and when we realized that we did , we waited 10 minutes , and when we hit the ground , we ran all the way to the jeep , fired it up and left in a hurry...It was the first time fear overcame my ability to shoot something...and Mark hasn't hunted much since then...He started Fishing ! I'll never forget that incident...

I go on this on-line forum all the time. I hear erie moaning and sniveling comming from one of the sub forums. It has something to do with kegs so it may be just a bunch of drunks sounding off. BUT I think its haunted. Every time I go on that forum I feel goose bumps run up and down my spine.
