Thumbs up Crappie were biting today

Today I caught five good sized crappie, one being 11 1/2" and four were
10". Changed locations today away from the bridge piers under a bridge...to open waters where lots of submerged trees and stumps were providing them shelter.

Looks like this might become my new favorite fishing spot.

BTW, for those who might be interested, these crappie were caught at Smithville Lake in NW, Missouri. Water depth was around 25 ft and it's temperature was 76 degrees F. I used medium sized live minnows, too. The skies were overcast. Not even a bite till around 1:30 p.m. Then things got exciting.

Nice fish Oxford. I go crappie fishing with my brother every year at Brookville Lake in Indiana and we always do good around the submerged trees. I like eating deep fried crappie.
