Gang warning--law abiders beware

Ok so last night i was out driving with friends and we stopped at another friends house to make a long story short cops came up and started telling us to be careful and to ID ourselves because a gang rumored to be about 40,000 strong is moving into the Montevideo/Marshall/Granite/Wilmar areas. Just thought I would keep everyone updated. The cops told us the gang was known for randomly killing people on the street usually young women and kids.

Even though I don't live in your state, thanks for the heads up, which is more generally good for everybody to heed. Punks, punks, and more punks, eh?

That isn't a "gang" - it's an invasion!
I suggest defining their boundaries and carpet bombing them.

did you really mean to type 40,000 strong or 4,000? 40,000 sounds like a military movement to me. That's just crazy hope yall have a good national guard.

Reads like a rough neighborhood coming to be...

...and, it is not good.

My wife and I lived in the Brooklyn Park area four years ago...

...and that area had a rough side too, but not in the numbers you've mentioned.

LA is crawling with gangs, and by far the most worrying is MS-13. They seem to operate like a military. And they are coast to coast (and beyond).

FORTY THOUSAND?!?! That's GOT to be a typo. There's no way anybody could get 40,000 criminal maggots to cooperate enough to form into one cohesive unit. 40,000 radical Islamic militants, maybe. 40,000 minority or even skinhead/white supremacists? NFW. Not even all the outlaw biker gangs combined.

JMHO, of course, better keep working on my ammo stash.....

Sounds like a good story to tell you so the cops could check you out, they are allways looking at people driveing around and make stuff up to check you out, what time was it when they questioned you?Had one follow me from a bar for 10 miles until I was 100yds from the county jail,he was parked across the street from the Bar when we(my wife and myself)left and his excuse was saw you cross the centerline 3 times. It was funny my wife didn't drink,I always had a designated driver (my wife) it was about 2:00AM ,asked my wife if she been drinking and she said she didn't drink.Checked us out while shineing the flashlight all over in the back seat and front.Figured it out later a friend in the band had given me a 6 pack of beer and he wanted to see what he had given me.I dont drink any more so they can check me out any time.I like the line that you look like someone we are looking for, then say ok you can go after looking all over in the car for something to bust you for.

Ms13?

Perhaps they mean some members of a gang with a total estimated membership of 40,000. MS13 comes to mind. However, it could be
some Hell's Angels or Banditos from the motorcycle end.

I don't think any gang could move 40,000 member to a specific area.
However, I could be wrong.

Ah, see, that statement is worded a little differently than your original. And there ain't 40,000 Hells Angels or Bandidos in the whole world, combined. They're much too exclusive. Now, MS13, I could see them getting that big as the entire organization combined. Being a member is such a status thing to folks of that demographic.

FWIW - IMO, gangbanger folks like that are the "zombies" that we all may have to do battle against someday. If they get so big and think they so "bad" that they think they're invincible, and try to take over neighborhoods or even towns, we're gonna have trouble. But gangbangers don't collect milsurp weapons, or buy cases of milsurp ammo, or even reload commercial ammo. And I'd bet it's pretty rare for your typical gangbanger to have more than two weapons at the most, and two boxes of ammo would be a lot to a gangbanger, I would think. And real target practicing? Forget it.

Now, the large biker gangs are another story. They know more about weapons and how to use them, and the value of quantities and supplies. But they're not going to try and take over anything, they want to be left alone.

Roaming bands of "homies" might be a real concern though. I doubt they really understand what they'd be up against, regarding the American gunowners and our resolve for self-defense. Battling them would be like battling an army of cockroaches, they'd get slaughtered.

What time were you out rideing around with your friends? Was it 1:00 AM or 2:00AM just what time did you get confronted and told about Gang members?Sounds like a made up story by the Police to keep you off the streets and check you out at the same time.

They are talking about MS-13. It's about 40,000 Nationwide, But it is not good news for Minnesota. My cousin is a Minnesota State Trooper and was briefed about it.

May have to start carrying a little more firepower than just my .45 now. At least some extra mags.....I figured out that I should easily be able to carry 70 rounds on my M1 carbine! And still be Colorado legal by having the chamber empty.

Hell, even my Brigade couldn't muster 2,000 men assigned to it and that was after a months notice.

Ya, you betcha! Willmar is a hot-bed of gang activity! MS-13 can smuggle their drugs inside the Jenni-O turkeys. Centralized location to ship meth w/ seed corn destined to Wadena, Redwood Falls, or all points west via Aberdeen.

Not to undermine the message to be aware of gang problems in small towns, I think the officer has an overactive imagination. Does anyone even lock doors out there?

I'd think the biggest worry would be hitting a deer at night, or a drunk-driven on the highway. Not an LA-gang. At most, someone with MS-13 ties in prison has been paroled to a relative that lives in town. And the cops already know who he is and will keep him under wraps.

Sleep safe!
