Question red dot scopes for mini 14s & mini 30s

I am looking for an Ultradot for my minis. any input good or bad on these optics. my eyesight sucks now and I do need some optic help. will be shooting hogs and coyotes at less than 200 yds. otherwise a regular scope but I love the quick target acquisition. thanks, fc

Which one are you looking at? I like red dots for fast shooting, but I'd go with a 2x magnification if I was shooting past 100 yards.

most red dots seem to be equipped with Weaver rings requiring a weaver base or Picatinny rail, my question is, will the rail interfere with the ejection of brass??

If it's a newer Mini then you shouldn't have any ejection problems.

I Have an eotech, and really like it. I don't know if its just because i'm getting older, but I cant see with it much past 50 yards.

If it's the .223 version, set a target at 50 yards, get the group around the bull, you should be good out to 200 yards or so.
