Take action on another chance to pass Concealed Carry Law

Everyone needs to read the following link. Concealed Carry for Out-of-State Travel Fails Then send your local senators an email by going here U.S. Senate: Senators Home Tell them something to the effect of should another opportunity to vote on S. 845 (Concealed Carry across state lines) arise you hope they will support its passage. And also that you hope they will consider becoming a cosponsor to this legislation and join the efforts to get the bill moving through the Judiciary Committee.
As Gun owners it is my opinion we should be constantly voicing our opinion on anything gun related. If we sit back and do nothing eventually they will strip us of our Second amendment rights little by little. Its your choice, but I hope you join in the fight by simply telling your Senators how you feel.

No Problem!! As they people of GOA say "Your right and need to carry concealed firearms for your protection does not end at the borders of your state". I don't know about others, but that is the main time I want to take mine for protection. Like when I go on Vacation!

Exactly what I face now. Will be visiting my son in Lisle, Ill. (s.e. of Chicago). My CHL is good until I hit the Illinois state line. I do not plan on illegally carrying while in Illinois, but would like to be legal as far as having a firearm in my possesion. Do any of you have knowledge of their laws in this regard? I went to a site on the internet, just not sure I am interpreting it correctly. I think if I have the unloaded weapon in it's case & the ammo stored in a separate compartment, I will be legal. Do you know if that is correct? Do I need a trigger lock on it? I have one, but prefer to not use it. Appreciate your help.

I can tell my senators to vote in favor of a national concealed-carry reciprocity bill until I'm blue in the face, but given they are both Democrats and one of them is a rabid anti-gunner, it is a waste of my time to do so - even though I do write the two bozos regularly.

Fortunately for me, both of my Senators voted for this last one. Too bad about NY, didn't you just lose one to be Sec of State?

Some states keep a ready supply of Bozos to replace those that screw up-move up.

Roger that, RackHunter. This needs to be an "everybody gets involved" effort. I will draft an email to my delegation and post it here on this thread after I send it off. That is a good link U.S. Senate: Senators Home. Another good link is NRA-ILA :: Action Center . Either way, take time to take action.

Done! I just sent a letter to one of my two Senators, the one that voted Nay. I felt a letter might be more effective than an email.

My message was just sent:

Sir,
We are writing you to ask for your continued support in the interstate reciprocity bill. We know that much is taking place right now with the unfair treatment of Representative Wilson and the ill-advised healthcare bill. Those are issues that we in the community are involved in as well. You are not alone. This is a time when the Democrat leadership will try to slip in a major proposal and anything related to the 2nd Amendment appears fair game. Thank you for you time.

Both of mine also voted in favor, I simply sent them both an e-mail thanking them for supporting the rights of their constituents, and asking that they remember to vote the same way when the subject is brought before them again.
