Sig 1911

Was looking at the guns today after spending a little time on the range. They have a Sig 1911 Stainless that seemed to call my name! Anybody want to comment on them? Recoil? Accuracy?
Only problem I see is I'm left handed, and wonder if that would be a problem.

Wonder if ANYBODY makes a left hand version of a 1911? Sounds like this could be a buck bucks idea.

But sorry, my only two 1911's are a Dan Wesson and a Springfield Armory.

I am also very interested in hearing more about the SIG 1911 in the 5" barrel (eg. the Nitron).

I bought the SIG 1911 GSR back in 2004. It's all stainless steel, heavy, and very nice to shoot. Accuracy is average for a 1911; 1.5 to 2" groups at 25 yards. Trigger is clean and crisp. Sights are standard. The light rail is a PLUS. I find the SIG P220 in stainless to be more comfortable to shoot. It is heavier than the 1911. It feeds any factory ammo I can put in it.

If I had been able to buy a SIG 1911 GSR back in 1998, it would have saved me thousands of dollars in my quest for a stainless steel 1911 that was excellent quality.

If you have any idea of getting one, I say "go for it." I think you will like it.
