I bought the SIG 1911 GSR back in 2004. It's all stainless steel, heavy, and very nice to shoot. Accuracy is average for a 1911; 1.5 to 2" groups at 25 yards. Trigger is clean and crisp. Sights are standard. The light rail is a PLUS. I find the SIG P220 in stainless to be more comfortable to shoot. It is heavier than the 1911. It feeds any factory ammo I can put in it.
If I had been able to buy a SIG 1911 GSR back in 1998, it would have saved me thousands of dollars in my quest for a stainless steel 1911 that was excellent quality.
If you have any idea of getting one, I say "go for it." I think you will like it.
