One good reason we need guns

here is a good example of what happens when a city has a ban on guns, if these people had a ccw and a weapon the police never would have gotten away with this .4 Chicago cops admit home invasions, thefts - STLtoday.com

How exactly did they pull off six months? There's no way they should have gotten only six months for what was listed in the article alone.

Well at least some of the comments also mentioned the mere 6 months they got.

I'm sure much of it had to do with the "on going investigation". If there even really is one? I have to wonder. because of just how corrupt Chitown is, if that was just a smokescreen so they could only give them 6 months?

I guess that will be answered by just how much more we hear of it in the news down the road?

And yes, this is one reason, one very good reason and I'd add, there are many, many other good reasons as well...

Though they only recieved 6 months in jail, when they get out they'll be watching there backs for a long time.
I would think the hispanics will take them out.

Not to say the m16 and m4 are by any means a quality rifle for any desert condition (they are not, even in boot camp where we cleaned the rifles twice a day we had jam rates of about 1 out of 200 on the range. THis was during 2nd phase when we were doing a lot of drills so they rifles where getting a lot of "dirt" time. But here is my question, why in God's name where they firing their m4's full auto so much they were getting white barrels? There is absolutely no reason to be firing constantly on full auto unless you are trying to supress. I just point this out becasue we end up reading about all these problems the Army has with thier weapons but every time my unit has worked with the Army we see them mistreat thier weapons, drop them, leave them unattended, and generaly flag everyone in site. I don't have experience with Army Infantry so mabey they are better, but I would venture to guess that alot of problems with the m16/m4 are due to lack of cleaning and in the case of the story not controling thier rate of fire.

****the M249 is horribly prone to jams, even when kept clean.
