help me out guys. Got $300 to spend on a SHTF weapon...
As the title says, I have $300 to spend on a purely shtf gun. I live in the city, and need a gun to help me get to our ranch, where we have loads of weapons and ammunition. My choices are as follows:
-9mm Hi-point carbine
-Mossberg persuader in 12 guage
-Remington 870 with extended magazine and 20 inch barrel
-SKS
-Mosin Nagant
-S&W sigma in .40cal

i agree with ten man on the twelve gauge... but, how many rounds does the persuader hold versus the 870 with extended tube... i own both a mossy and a 870 and like them both... but deffinetly go with the twelve gauge, thats what i would do anyways... jmo.

Stay away from the Sigma, worst Smith and Wesson Trigger EVER!@!@! They are cheap and plentiful for a reason in all the gun stores... Because no one wants them lol.
I like the 870 but would add the extended mag. Also, the hi point carbine is light, handy, and capable of reaching out and touching someone if necessary. If you chose it, carry several loaded spare mags.

The only thing is the 870 with the extended tube screws up the balance, it is muzzle heavy and will not swing proper. I know because I tried it and ended up selling the extension.
