We're holding a drive-thru flu clinic here on campus at the football stadium parking lot in October where we'll be giving 8000 Type "A" flu shots and 8000 Type "B" flu shots. They're free. It'll be a busy day.

I used to get sick every time I got my flu shot in the Air Force also. Now my doctor wants me to get one because I'm a Diabetic. I asked about getting sick like I did when I got them before. I was told that the vaccine had been changed from the one they used in the past. I don't know if that is true or not but I didn't get sick from the one I received last year. I will be getting another very soon.

I'm one of those unlucky people that would get the flu every year like clockwork, and it would hit me hard, even when young. 6 years ago I started getting flu shots and haven't had it since. They work.

I've had the flu only once - when I switched from a lonely night-shift to the crowded day-shift here at work. It was a bad year - 2000 or so, and a lot of these folks have young kids. Always a bad situation - the kiddies pick up crap at school and spread it among their families. We were all dropping like flies, even those who got their shots.
I avoid the vaccines, and will absolutely avoid the Mexican Flu witches' brew. All I have been reading about it makes me queasy. The shot has some nasties in it you DON'T want. And it is basically untested. The first 'victims' are the testrats. Lets wait and see what happens to THEM before risking it.
In the meantime, I am using a regimen of supplements to beef up my health and immune system. Might work, might not. But I put more trust in my body's ability to fight disease (proven over fifty-odd years) than in this Goobermint-approved concoction fromt he Nether Regions.
Just my choice. If it hits hard, I am prepared to quarentine myself for weeks if necessary. In a pinch, I can 'work from home'.
Got my shot the very same day my lil one got the FluMist through school....didn't do that last year and I swear that 3 days after he got the FluMist, I was tore up by the flu! Got pneumonia from it and all. I made sure to get my shot this time!!!!!!

I've gotten 24 hours flu's and what-not but hardly gotten a true flu. Never gotten a flu shot either. Terrified to death of needles. Guess that counts me out of the hard drugs haha. But seriously, flu shots only really crutch your immune system.
