romainian ak kit

I've been sitting on a romainian kit for 2 years.
I was thinking of having it built but i have changed my mind, i think i wanna sell it.
The problem is i can't find any on the net so i can gauge how much i should charge for it.
It's still in the box and plastic rapping it was sent in.
Wood furniture with fixed stock.
Do you guys know who has these i wanna price mine competitively.
Thankyou for the help.
kirk, out

2 years ago they were selling for 79.99...today , they are going for 249.00 to 349.00 on various sites...But are way overpriced in My Opinion , since I can buy a completed gun for 450-550 bucks...

it's the people that live in places like california where it's hard to get an ak modified to be legal that are going to pay the most for a kit. that way we can legally buy it and modify it without breaking any laws. i paid 350 for an unissued kit early in the year while the obama scare was still on. i don't regret it.
if i lived in a state where it's legal to have quick release mags on the ak, i'd have bought one allready assembled for just a few bucks more.

The Romanian barrel is crome-lined for longer service life. I'm not sure about the American barrels,of course I've never met anyone who has worn
out a rifle barrel.

If you are going to build the kit, your need for matching parts may not be as great. I would opt for the $199 kit if I knew how to build my own reciever from a flat. Since I don't know the first thing about doing this, I will stick to finished guns. FWIW, I would opt for the RPK kit and build that instead of the AK47. The longer and heavier barrel does tend to provide better accuracy, although I am no fan of the added wieght.

Cool

I too have this kit and just broke it out to build. Paid 100 bucks for it 3 years ago. Dont think I will sell it, but it is an option as I have not done anything to it except start to tear it apart.

I just received an I.O. Inc $199 kit (nonmatching), and besides no buttplate or cleaning rod, it has the barrel pressed onto the front trunion, with the ground off rivets still in the trunnion? Why bother to press it together (if in fact it actually IS a new barrel), when it will have to be pressed apart again to install the receiver?????

they must have done it just to make sure it fit good. no other reason that i can think of. please let us know if they make good on the missing parts. i'm thinking of getting a couple kits soon and would appreciate the update.

I contacted them yesterday, and they said they will send me the buttplate, the cleaning rod was not included. She also said that it is a US barrel, but she couldn't explain why they would press the trunnion on, just that they all came that way. Bear in mind, that this $199 kit is not numbers matching. I think I'm going to order an economy 100% receiver from NoDakSpud, and do a screw build.
