Hey guys, I am in the Navy and have the misfortune of being stationed in California. I will be going to AZ for about 6 weeks with my squadron and was wondering if I can legally purchase a gun in AZ. I have a military ID but a CA drivers licence. What are the rules??

I thought you couldn't buy a gun in a state that is more than 2 states away from where you have residency. Maybe I am wrong.

I am actually an Oregon resident, but I just have a CA DL. When I go to Nevada they will not sell me a gun unless I can show a set of permanant orders to a base in Nevada. State law.

Handgun you'll have to wait on and have shipped, a rifle you should be able to walk out the door with if that's still allowed in Cali.

You can buy long guns out of your home state but not handguns.
