Some people's hate and ignorance are beyond comprehension. I understand if you dislike the Feds, but killing anyone, much less a census worker.... whoever it is should get the death sentence.

Couldn't agree more. It will be very interesting to get "the rest of the story" to quote the late Paul Harvey. It could be pure hatred of anything and anyone that has to do with the government. It could also be a case of this poor man finding or seeing something he wasn't supposed to like moonshining or dope or some other illegal activity.
this is the kind of thing that happens when people lie and say thing like there will be "death panels". some people start to think that the sky really is falling and that the government is truely there enemy........ a true shame that someone died........... i hope they find the guy that did it.

The kind of idiot, possibly a paranoid doper, that thinks the census worker was a Federal agent. Remember we don't know what the motive was. We don't even know it was murder. What if it was suicide and he didn't want his family to know.
If it was murder then I think He/she/they should get the chair.

The article says it might be suicide. We know very little info on it at this time.
If it was murder, as others have stated, it could have been a result of anything. It could have been a guy screwing his neighbor's wife. Who knows.
If it was government/Obama/Federal Reserve related, quite frankly, I'm surprised it took this long for such a thing to happen. There's a lot of anger and frustration in America right now.
An awful lot of Americans have died in the making of America. It's not crazy to think more will die as some protect what they perceive as its remaking. I suspect we'll see more of this kind of thing (even if suicide) than less before 2012.

This happened in the next county over. Clay County is well known for its drug activity. Some of the biggest corruption cases in the state have been over there. The mayor, his son, an ex ass. police cheif, a couple of magistrates are in jail now. While I didn't know Mr. Sparkman myself, he was well known in this area. I have yet to meet anyone who has anything negative to say about him. If you are more interested in this try googling Clay County or Manchester KY. This is the county seat.
Suicide? I have serious doubts that someone would etch FED into his chest before hanging himself. I would nearer believe that he was in the wrong place at the wrong time and saw something that someone did not want him to talk about. Hope the LEOS catch the perpetrators and that they all get a death sentence.

i agree with rascaldog on this. he may have stumbled on an illegal drugs operation, and the preps got rid of the only witness. meth production in Ky is rampant, along with growers its keeping LE on their toes. just yesterday there was a Blackhawk checking my area came over the house so close the wife could see the pilot. then it left and continued the search in the area, slowly cruising...looking.

Lots of bad things happen to people that knock on the door of a strangers house in the middle of nowhere. Ever watch a Texas Chainsaw Massacre movie?

He could have had a mental problem, and not taken his pills. This can cause someone to mangle themselves. Chances are that is not the case here, but it does happen.
My cousin married a chick with Bipolar. She got crazy and locked herself in a second floor bathroom. She stabbed herself in the stomach with a large kitchen knife and then jumped out the window.
She lived but they aren't married anymore (thank God).
