Let's see now... They can be as playful as porpoises, cold as a fish, slippery as eels, moody as an octopus, change their minds as often as the tide, and when they're angry they can shut up as tight as a clam. Underwater could be the best place for em'.

Lets take this one step further. A Sub crew of all women. If qualified, why not?

Maybe they should make up a test crew of submarine girls and see how they make out.

Some women are amazing in their determination and multi-tasking abilities.

My wife can do about 25 things at a time and has a memory like a steel trap but things like the phase of the moon can cause her to go off-scale hot over nothing.

Women seem to be more affected by emotional things that guys would just shrug off.

I think a real world test in a sub would prove that women can handle just about anything when they make up their minds.

A lot of guys couldn't handle being in a sub for extended periods. Sub people are very special.

... honestly, I think a woman on a sub is a pretty good idea. Most women are more sensitive to noise, etc. ... and are very good with perception.

... just imagine the consequences of a sub full of pi**ed off women? That bad guy sub is going to have a very - bad - day...

... no problems here.

I didn't think of this before.

Are there Nukes on this sub?

You don't want to give my wife a Nuke, she'd use it!

Those long cruises sure would be more fun if there was some female entertainment on the sub. That kind of stuff goes on over the waves, so why not below the waves. LOL.

NO! I am currently a bubblehead myself. I have been for 8 years now. I am a machinist mate auxilrymen. I am sure those of you who have been a bubblehead know exactly what that is for those of you who dont let me enlighten you. My division owns over 90 percent of that sub. We own the atmosphere control equipment, diesel, and sanitation system and pump just to name a couple of things. When something breaks we have to fix it there are no shops you can take things to like on a big deck. So if the san pump gets clogged we are taking it apart and cleaning it out, we have to maintain hepititus shots to perform our jobs. On a fast attack we have 2 heads and 3 berthing for the e-6 and below. if you are a junior e-5 and depending upon the misssion i have seen e-6 hot rack which means 3 people to 2 racks. So number one men and women would have to share the same racks, heads and so on so fourth. Will not work. Second when a female hits that time of the month our sanitation system will not support this waste due to the design and nature of it. It greatly differs from that of a surface ship. My masterchief and i just had this conversation the other day, he has been in the navy for 22 years. He remembers when he was a junior second class and females were introduced onto the first carrier, i think it was the IKE. He said almost everyone of them ended up pregnant or they and there accomplice ended up going to see the man for getting caught doing things they should not. On subs you can go 2 months easily without seeing the sunlight and without any freshair. it gets really boring and lonly out there sometimes and us guys act like fools to pass the time away and keep from going crazy. It is a much different lifestyle that many people would not understand and i promise you would give it up the first week or two after they tried it. I think females have the equal rite when it comes to some things but there are other that should be left alone.

SS69FBODY, well said. It's always good to hear from another boat sailor; especially on this issue. You might want to lean on some legislators in the Congress and get others to do the same. I use the NRA/ILA link NRA-ILA :: Action Center. It is quick and easy and it does not have to be a 2nd Amendment issue. Just be sure to scroll down in the box marked “Subject Matter,” then type in a quick email and send. This is an issue that was already shot down in 1994 and has been laying dormant for 15 years. The supporters of this agenda, many in Hollywood and the media, have waited all this time for a leftist Congress and administration to be their conduit for implementation. Let's not let this happen.

Here are some more documented reasons why women should not be on submarines and why this whole subject is being rehashed 15 years after it was deemed unfeasable and unworkable:

The Navy commissioned a private contractor, Science Applications International Corporation (SAIC) to conduct a study into the feasibility of placing women on submarines. A link to that study (.pdf file) is below.

http://cmrlink.org/CMRNotes/SAPA%20020195.pdf

Then we have this, from a retired Rear Admiral Undersea Medical Officer:

http://cmrlink.org/CMRNotes/HPScott%20061200.pdf

And finally, the Navy's answer to an inquiry made by DACOWITS concerning the assignment of women to submarine crews.

Anyone ever been on a sub? It ain't like the Seaview. There's no privacy, don't see how women could fit in.

Well, let's see here. Black greasy cracked finger nails, skin rashes, atmospheric stench from overflowing sanitation tanks (when they do overflow, and they will, it goes in the living and operations area, or “people" tank), cranky from lack of sleep, bitchy from PMS, and lots of jealous husbands and boyfriends waiting for you three months later regardless of whetheror not you and Ms. Skin Rash were guilty of anything. There you go Young William, that's about as "smokin' hot" as they'll get.
