, Was commenting on a thread when I remembered something !! Have something like this to share ??
My Dad liked Miracle whip when we were growing up. I avoided it like the plague. Still do. I was on Guard Duty in Germany on Thanksgiving Day. They drove around and gave hot Turkey sandwiches, mashed potatos and gravy until it ran out. I got a cold turkey sandwich, and a bag of chips. Turkey, lettuce, tomato, and you guessed it, MIRACLE WHIP !! It was swimming in it !! Ate the chips and the tomato slices. Washed it down with my canteen and stepped back out into the pouring rain. I felt like Sad Sack, and was the loneliest PVT in all of Duetchland !!

I was the pickey type of eater back before I found out how good food could be. Back in 1966 I was 12 years old and would always get a plain ole humburger with nothing on it when my family would eat-out. I would get the usual tomato/mustard/pickles/onion an occasional cheese, dad woud say scrape the stuff off, I consider the burger rundt and just bad food at this point, well on our trip to Mexico, I got a burger and it had MW on it, I fit to be tied, I knew I was to scrape it off, there's no good way to do this, it just creeps into the meat. I don't mind it now
I don't like lima beans and canned peas [mushy ick ick ick!] some fish [very few tho] [fond mememories thanks] I was forced to eat things at school so I would grow up strong and healthy---oh yeah, my mom made Chocolate maonise cake [MW] which is the eggs and oil needed to make the cake, so...good thing mom didn't tell me it may have cause me to miss one of my favorite cakes.
Miracle whip, just another way of ruining mayo.
All the years in the Nav ruined me on some foods.
Apple pie, cold fried chicken, hot dogs, vienna sausages and processed cheese products. But when we went to gtmo for the last time we traded with the grunts some MREs for the fried chicken and balogna sandwitches.
However we had stuff like Pork and chicken adobo, panset, and lumpia good stuff Maynard.
I grew up on Miracle Whip Mom and Dad never bought Helmans Mayo. It was'nt until I was married and our son was around 6 or 7 years olds, he insisted his Momma buy some Helmans because of seeing the comersial. ..LOL
Anyway we have'nt bought Miracle Whip in 20 years We like Helmans the best.
I might pick up a small jar of Miracle Whip to try again on a Bolonia sandwhich.
YUK no I ain't ...A.H
When we were first married my half sent me to the store for cool whip and I came home with miracle whip. She gave me that "Aw honey, if you were just a little smarter" look, and sent me back.
