Take a buddy along and get him aways away( 100 to 200 yards) (out of sight) from you and your dog and have him shoot a few shots see how your dog reacts to the shots if no problems then have your buddy start moving closer and closer while still firing a few shots. Make sure the first shots the dog cant see your buddy or the gun.
When I took my dog out the first time as a puppy I didnt know how he'd react to the shot as it turned out my buddy got first shot from around the corrals out of sight and it perked my dogs interest!

My uncle actually bought ear muffs, just regular cheap human shooting muffs, for his dog. It helped train her, until she was able to take them off.

just hang out on the couch with Lil bonnie and watch cartoons.
guns and hunting are overrated anyway....
