Question Protec Gun Oil (grease): in the bore?

My mistake: noticed that it is a liquid, not the white grease.
Just about to use my first bronze brush (had been lost).

The instructions state that it can be smeared in the bore with a brush.
If the goal is only to protect the bore/rifling, would you use this with a brush, instead of on a patch?

I am trying to baby all three of my LEs, even more than the MN 44 (Olga).

I would use a patch or bore mop.

Or even a bristle brush. Not a PB brush.
