Should be fine. I've got Nikons on bigger stuff than a 7mm and the hold up fine. You really can't go wrong with Leupold or Nikon for the money.

I've got a Buckmaster on my .30-06 and love it! It's by far the clearest scope I've ever looked through. I can't afford the expensive ones - and don't see the benefit of having one. I've seen guys spend more on glass than the rifle and the trip combined. I don't think you'll have any problems. I've hunted with mine at near sea level (Florida) and at almost 9000 feet (Colorado). No fogging issues and the adjustments held.

the optics are great, not a bit of problem there. for the money, the Nikons are great scopes.

I'm just not a fan of BDC reticles tho. if you use a BDC on a 308, 30-06,300WM, or 300WSM long range impact points will vary due to different ballistics. if one knows a particular bullets ballistic trajectory at specified ranges than a Mil-Dot becomes a better means of accurately establishing a long range impact point. The Buckmaster scopes use to come with the Mil-Dot option but they may have been discontinued, I'm not sure. I had some Buckmaster Mil-dot scopes a year ago but they got clearanced priced and once they were gone I have not seen another one since.

Thanks for the replies. I also cant afford the Swaorski's, Leupold, or Ziess. Excuse the spelling on those. So, its an all around good scope for the money.

I've got that exact scope and love it, as clear and bright as my Leupolds. Think I'm gonna get the 6x18x40 mil dot next.

I've sometimes griped about the small-sized (for the objective dia.) field of view of the Buckmasters, but frankly, especally after trying out another big-name's semi-premium model today on a varmint rifle, I actually missed the Nikon. I have the 4-14 and the Midway special mil-dot 6-18X and am now pretty convinced that they're the best scope in that price range. If you can't go the extra bucks for the Monarch the Buckmasters will do fine.
