Hi all,
My brother Joe Brainard has been on here a while and convinced me that I should check it out. I am currently looking at purchasing a 357 Magnum. Don't count on me posting much, but I really like this forum.

Welcome aboard nj. I have owned Smith & Wesson .357 magnums and a Ruger .357 magnum. The S&Ws were two stainless Model 65s service revolvers, and a Model 686 L-Frame that I used in police service competition years ago. The one and only Ruger was a Police Service Six. All had 4" barrels and all were/are great guns. I have since let the S&W Model 686 and the Ruger Police Service Six go. I am thinking about a Ruger GP100, again with a 4" barrel.

Thanks. I am currently looking at a 4" Taurus and a 6" Ruger. I like the Ruger more, but it is also $150 more.

You should bring your handgun decision making over to the general handgun forum, you'll get a lot more input. Welcome to the forums!
