Bear hunting in N.H.

I'm going bear hunting for the first time with a friend of mine(his first time too)and we are looking for some advice from the experts here.
We have done a lot of research and are ready to go out and give it a whirl.
I'll be taking my M44 with the Bearonet on it(bayonet that is)and he'll be using his 91/30.
Any and all feed back would be appreciated.
Thanks in advance,
Jason

So now we are up to 20 people that have viewed this thread, and still no reply's.
I guess that there are no bear hunters here.
Thanks to all that took the time to at least read my thread.
