If you use the RCBS 505 & 502 remember the main beam scale is in 10 grain incriments on the 505 and 5 grain incriments on the 502.
I loaded up some .357's tonight, sat down and moved the main beam scale to "10" on the 505 (first hash) would have been 5 on the 502. At any rate, I caught myself, but coulda made a hell of a boo boo.
Good info Jerry! That's the main reason I use a Dillon (Ohaus) Eliminator with three separate divisions (tenths, grains, grainsx10)-I'm too flaky to deal with all of that complicated stuff.
I bought a set of Lyman check weights, and use them on about every 10th loaded round to make sure my settings have not changed, doing so will take the guess work out of your settings and you will not make mistakes that you wont catch on the 10th round and setting up.
I have 2 502 scales, one bought new at Midway and the other used at a yard sale, one at the yard sale had a cracked agate V block where the beam rides and called RCBS wanting to order a new set. They got my name and address and said they would be in the mail .When I asked how much they said no charge.Cant beat that for service!!
