Here's the most hilarious news article I've read this morning...
...possibly one of the most funny/bizarre in the last year, lined up directly after the one proclaiming BHO as US President.
"The stunning choice made Obama the third sitting U.S. president to win the Nobel Peace Prize and shocked Nobel observers because Obama took office less than two weeks before the Feb. 1 nomination deadline."
I read that as well! LOL!!! But seriously, what has BO done for peace?! Oh, I remember, he helped negotiate peace between Israel and Egypt. No, wait, that was Carter. He invented the internet! No, that was Gore. He, he.....he....heck what did he do?

To call the Nobel Committee's choice a travesty is to be charitable indeed.
Look at the record. Obama had to have been nominated for things he did before February 1, 2009. What did he do, exactly?
He appointed a pile of criminals to his administration who had broken the law at least as far as nonpayment of taxes went. His Secretary of State is a thief who was never prosecuted for stealing items ranging from vermeil tableware and flatware to furniture from the White House Permanent Collection.
He presided over an inauguration and a bunch of formal balls connected to it.
He ran for President and won, the first (by American criteria) black American to win election to that office.
He sat in the US Senate for about 147 days during his first term - the rest of the time, he was out campaigning to be elected President - and did absolutely nothing. He introduced no bills. He fought for passage of no bills. He voted "present" a lot. His most significant accomplishment was to refuse to sign the amicus brief the Senate sent to the Supreme Court in DC vs. Heller.
He was a state legislator in Illinois. He introduced no bills. He fought for passage of no bills. He voted "present" a lot.
He taught a law course at a university. He was not a tenured professor, merely an instructor.
He was a "community organizer," whatever that is. No one has yet given me a satisfactory explanation of what a community organizer does. From what I can tell, it's a cross between being a Mafioso collecting protection money and being a loudmouthed blowhard activist like "Megaphone Mark" Slackmayer in Doonesbury. During this period, he was an adviser to ACORN, an outfit of community activists that seems to be a criminal organization under the RICO definitions.
Just what has this clown done to earn the Nobel Prize when you compare him to people like Mother Theresa, Nelson Mandela, Bishop Desmond Tutu, Theodore Roosevelt, or even Jimmy Carter?
Mother Theresa built a order of nuns, the Missionaries of Charity, from scratch with no help from Rome to help the poor of India. Her work made a difference (and continues to make a difference) in the lives of millions of poverty-stricken low-caste Indians.
Nelson Mandela is an activist in the Mohandas Gandhi mold. He can be argued to be a cross between Gandhi and Abe Lincoln. His dignity through a quarter century of imprisonment and his example freed a nation from minority rule and brought about a peaceful transition of power by democratic means without wrecking his nation, something almost unique in black African history.
Desmond Tutu, very like Gandhi, lives a life that inspires his people. He worked with Mandela in bringing about the transformation of South Africa peacefully. His chairing of the Truth and Reconciliation Commission is a major reason there was no race war between the white mainority and the black majority to settle old scores when majority rule came to South Africa. There isn't another non-politician in South Africa who could have managed that remarkable feat.
Theodore Roosevelt brokered the end of the Russo-Japanese War in a way that to some extent saved the Imperial Russian government's face and made the Japanese friends of the United States until the militaristic clique took over the country after World War I (and perhaps coincidentally, after TR's death). He created the National Park system as we know it today. He pushed the United States into the forefront of influential nations.
Jimmy Carter managed to broker a peace accord between Israel and Egypt, mainly by bringing two leaders who were tired of a state of perpetual armed truce together and helping them work out terms whereby their countries could get along with each other, or at least leave each other alone. His work after leaving the White House with Habitat for Humanity has done more lasting good than anything he did while he was President and is an example of how ordinary people coming together can make a difference in their communities.
I reiterate: Apart from being black and being elected President, exactly what has Barack Obama done to deserve the Nobel Peace Prize?
This is some kind of sick joke right?? he didn't really earn that thing did he? Looks like even the Nobel Prize people can be bribed. I don't know how else he could have one unless they all bought into his BS and are still overwhelmed with "Obamania" and are actually ignorant to the fact that he really hasn't done anything? If that is the case, then maybe I need to go around and just give speeches on peace. Then I would be a winner too!!

After all it is peaceful in Chicago with kids killing each other with 2x4s and all for just being there. He was an excellent community organizer to organize that kind of thinking, a fine example.

the nobel peace prize is a joke any way. when a terroist like Yasser Arafat can win it, that tells me it is nothing to do with peace but all to do with the recipient going along with the globalist U.N. agenda. and in comrade Obama's case, that is dismantling the U.S.A. as a super power. His aploogy tour was also a big part of him getting the "prize" I am sure.

That is the most likely reason.
The world is no longer going insane.
It's already beyond that point.
Obama awarded the Nobel Peace Prize..............

The committee that awards the Nobel peace prize consists of five guys from the Socialist country of Norway. They know Obama is a socialist and are rewarding him for leaning their way.
They also gave the award to Jimmy Carter and Al Gore. Do you see a common theme here?
Obama stands there promising to make the world all better like some Miss America contestant saying "I want World Peace" and they give him the award even though he hasn't done a damned thing to deserve it.
Oh well, he got to be president with no experience so why should we be surprised.
The only thing he's failed at is getting the Olympics in Chicago and I'm pretty sure he thought all he had to do was show up and they'd fall all over themselves for the "Chosen One."
Although President Obama had only been in office for 12 days before the nominations for this year's Nobel Peace prize closed the entire process actually takes a full year. According to the official Nobel Prize Web site invitation letters are sent out in September. Every year, the Norwegian Nobel Committee sends out thousands of letters inviting a qualified and select number of people to submit their nominations for the Nobel Peace Prize. The deadline to submit nominations is February 1. -- Two hundred five names were submitted for the 2009 Nobel Peace Prize, 33 of which are organizations. A short list of nominees is prepared in February and March. The short list is subject to adviser review from March until August. At the beginning of October, the Nobel Committee chooses the Nobel Peace Prize Laureates through a majority vote. The decision is final and without appeal. The names of the Nobel Peace Prize Laureates are then announced."
Barack Obama won the Nobel Peace Prize this morning. Over the last decade the only requirement to win the prize was that the nominee had to be critical of George W. Bush (see Al Gore, Mohamed El Baradei and Jimmy Carter).
President Obama has broken new ground here. Nominations for potential winners of the 2009 Nobel Peace Prize ended on February 1. The president took office only 12 days earlier on January 20.
Let’s take a look at the president’s first 12 days in the White House according to his public schedule to see what he did to deserve a Nobel Peace Prize:
January 20: Sworn in as president. Went to a parade. Partied.
January 21: Asked bureaucrats to re-write guidelines for information requests. Held an “open house” party at the White House.
January 22: Signed Executive Orders: Executive Branch workers to take ethics pledge; re-affirmed Army Field Manual techniques for interrogations; expressed desire to close Gitmo (how’s that working out?)
January 23: Ordered the release of federal funding to pay for abortions in foreign countries. Lunch with Joe Biden; met with Tim Geithner.
January 24: Budget meeting with economic team.
January 25: Skipped church.
January 26: Gave speech about jobs and energy. Met with Hillary Clinton. Attended Geithner's swearing in ceremony.
January 27: Met with Republicans. Spoke at a clock tower in Ohio.
January 28: Economic meetings in the morning, met with Defense secretary in the afternoon.
January 29: Signed Ledbetter Bill overturning Supreme Court decision on lawsuits over wages. Party in the State Room. Met with Biden.
January 30: Met economic advisers. Gave speech on Middle Class Working Families Task Force. Met with senior enlisted military officials.
January 31: Took the day off.
February 1: Skipped church. Threw a Super Bowl party.
So there you have it. The short path to the Nobel Peace Prize: Party, go to meetings, skip church, release federal funding to pay for abortions in foreign countries, party some more.
Good grief.

the Heisman Trophy and tomorrow he will win Most Valuable Player in the 2010 Super Bowl!!!!!!
With jesting aside, we all know that this has become a meaningless award--Carter, Gore, Obama. It is a sign of the times that there are no REAL heroes out there working for the objectives that this award signifies. I take it with a grain of salt and cannot get angry over it because it is too stupid to even merit attention.

This "award" has been sullied beyond repair. It shows that the Nobel Prize Committee is not nearly so smart as the IOC. Wonder if ACORN was involved......
