| How About a Junk Drawer Thread
Well I'm getting rained out from work for the 3rd day this week and I'm bored outta my gourd, so I decided (about an hour ago) to clean out my junk drawer. Wow. This is almost like Christmas! I think junk drawers need to be discussed here on G&G. I just know all you guys and gals have one, so what's all in yours? If I listed the entire contents of mine it would be the longest post ever, so I'll start with the top ten things I found that I didn't even know were in there. 1. 3 inch sheath knife my grandfather gave me when I was a kid. bone handled, still purty dang sharp! 2. A brand new spark plug for my four wheeler, that I sold 5 years ago 3. A really cool pair of aviator sunglasses that I last wore to a mustache/ninja party 4. The 11/16 wrench that has been missing from my set for at least a year (I assumed it was gone forever). 5. An arrowhead I found when I was in junior high. 6. 8 Gumby Club cards! (If I can find 2 more I can get a free pizza or pokey stix!) 7. A bag of those gold foil covered chocolate coins. 8. A snakebite kit. 9. Full box of CCI Stingers. 10. 11 beer tickets from my hometown's annual reunion, wrapped around 7 tickets that I won playing ski-ball. This is the coolest rain day ever! I think I'm gonna start up a pot of my world famous white chicken chilli and maybe even drink a Sam Adams. BTW, I am only working on my primary junk drawer for now. I will probably save my secondary back up junk drawer for another day. haha

I gotta a junk drawer in the kitchen. It is running over with lots of keepable junk. When I don't have a place to put something I wanna keep it goes in my junk drawer. My Junk drawer is very personal because it' s my junk and know one else's. No one has any bizzness go'in through my junk drawer because it's my junk. My junk hardly ever gets used, though sometimes I look through it to see whats in it, in case there is something I can use. My Junk drawer is crooked and you have to pick up on it so it will open. My junk drawer contains some personal items like old hunting liscens, bill folds, several pocket knives, parts to Mag light flash lights, one shotgun plug, several watches I've broke or they broke, a ground fault wall receptical I could'nt figger out how to install. One phillips head screw driver with the end burned half off from trien to install the ground fault receptical. Another screw driver with the bits in the handle...A whole bunch of worn out calculators that I used on my route...They have centimentel value. Odd and not so odd screws, nuts and bolts. It even has one of the legs off our sofa in my junk drawer. A green oval rubber coin purse that you squeeze and it opens up. Plus much much more stuff. OH I found a perfectly round flat rock so it's in my junk drawer..I drue a happy face on it...A.H

Hey A.H, somehow I figured this post would draw your attention. Sounds like you have things under control with the junk drawer. I don't have any rocks with smiley faces but that is a nice touch. I do however, have some bottle rockets in my junk drawer, and a few M-80s, and a string of blackcats. After cleaning this thing out, I put the box of stingers in an ammo can w/ the rest of my .22 ammo. Now I feel somewhat safer in case the junk drawer ever catches fire. SwedeSteve, I just sense that you have an incredibly awesome junk drawer. Come on, out with it. Tell us all the goodies!

SwedeSteve I will trade you 5 of my chocolate coins and 2 new carpenter pencils for that basketball needle! The chocolate coins don't expire until October of 2011, and the pencils are brand new unsharpened!

Dragunov, this is a lighthearted junk drawer thread. Yes, we are bored. I also happened to notice you suggested you have more than one junk drawer. By all means man, go through it! Few things have brought me as much happiness on a rain day as going through my junk drawers. Just a bit ago I found a deck of cards with Spiderman pictures on the back and also a golf pencil with at least ten feet of duct tape wrapped around it!

I don't have a junk drawer. I have two junk attics and a 14x26 junk shed that I really need to go through, considering I can't get into any of them! Trouble is, what I think of as "junk" Her Imperial Majesty thinks of as "treasure," and vice versa. This makes it hard to get rid of anything that's not positively broken. |

She keeps saying she'll go through it. (Right!) I'm afraid to go through my other junk drawers out of the fear I'll lose a finger or something. Lots of sharp stuff and hard telling whats growing or on the loose in it. | |
