Cant find a scope to fit my savage 111 BTH

I recently won a savage 111 BTH long action in 270 win. I want to mount a reasonably priced 3x9x40mm scope, The mount length(end of ring to end of ring) is a little over 6 inches and most scopes Ive seen ( Busnell elite,Nikon Pro staff ) mount lengths are less than that. Anyone have a suggestion.

all long action savages require offset rings to mount most scopes. some rings sets use just one ring offset and some have both rings offset. here is just one example to give you an idea.

Millett 1" Angle-Loc Windage Adjustable Weaver-Style Rings 2 Extended Rings Gloss Medium - MidwayUSA

I use to like the windage adjustable style rings but i've seen people mess up some scopes with them by torqueing and twisting the main tube. there are other designs that are not windage adjustable that would probably be better for you. this is just used as an example.

this is a single offset with no windage adjustment (better)

note:
Savage ships the long action package rifles with rings that are not off set. but, these are scopes with long main tubes and even then the rings they use are thin 2 screw setups that are using every bit of the tube span with no forward or back adjustment possible. thats why I said "most scopes" being replaced on these rifles will need the rings switched out to some kind of offset.

The offsets are the best way to go.

You could always call Savage Customer Service. I'm sure someone there can guide you to several sources.

I use Weaver bases with Burris Signature Zee Rings on my 110 FLP and they work just fine. You can mount most any scope on them.

I had a long action in 7mm mag with leupold mounts and rings and could
not get the scope to move backward anymore. So i just got a front ring with
a 5/8 inch rearward offset, that way the ring wouldnt hit the front bell.
