After reviewing this thread I have decided to take the advice of the medical experts like Billy and TexasT and take my shot as soon as available.I have decided it makes little difference whether I take the shot and die from it or die because I didn't take the shot and caught the flu which would probably be fatal for my weak lungs. If the shot proves fatal,I promise to apoligize to all of the nay-sayers.(the one question I have is:how can all of these "experts"that probably can't stir paint and get the proper mix to paint with suddenly know how shots are made, whether they are dangerous, and that all medical people are just sadist,s trying to kill people so they have more time to play golf?(and other pursuits)I honestly believe that all medical practitioners except the ones I go to are trying to do good and save lives. The ones I go to are truly sadist's and I am their favorite guenni pig,but I believe they would be homeless and on welfare if not for the fees I pay them. ,,,sam.

...it may be good preventative death action for you to find a backup treatment that can help your immune system not over react should you get swine/H1N1 lung condition.
From reports I've been reading, the follow-on condition of swine/H1N1 lab brew is potentially more lethal than the initial reaction...

| TT: what are you hearing about the H1N1 mist vs. injection? I still plan on getting me & lil' one the H1N1 vaccine but am unsure as to which method to introduce. I know that the mist is available in some areas; I have not currently heard about the injection. I am also hearing from other medical folks that because I am not in the "high" risk category, I will not be getting the vaccine when it becomes available, although my local health dept was giving it to those who showed up, regardless of risk category.

In my line of work i am in contact from teenagers that come from all over the world.
That is why it is imperative for me to be immunized.

Please tell us how many hours you have spent in the medical school library researching the CDC and WHO chronicles that led to this emphatic statement of "fact."
If you actually had the knowledge base to make an informed statement about the subject, your opinion might carry some weight. | I have no medical training but i have 2 doctors in my family and they have the trainging and experience to tell me when and what is proper and the BS that you are propagating is just that it is nothing more than talk that gets people upset and at this point is getting very close to getting this thread closed because it is not correct information on the subject of flu vacinations.

There is nothing new in this article. We have known that new strains of every virus mutate each year and that it is a guess to make vaccines that counteract them. Even with a modicum of distrust of the government, it is better to be prepared by taking the vaccine and thereby helping to protect yourself. It is also the height of selfishness not to want to take the vaccine and potentially infect others if you are a carrier. We are all in this world together. hahahaha tibia goldtibia gold |

| In a few hours, my 6 y/o is getting his H1N1 mist, and if okay by my Endocrionologist, I will be joining him in getting it. I am going to find out if he needs two doses....I am hearing that kids in his age group need 2 doses while I will only need one.....hubby adamantly refuses any of the flu vaccines.

| Just got back from the local health department....my son recieved the 1st of 2 H1N1 mist-his 2nd is due approximately a month from now.....I was not able to get one. I was told that even though my endocrinologist "cleared" me to get the mist, although he reminded me that it was 'live", the health dept stated that my auto-immune thyroid disease was enough to warrant me waiting for the injection. The only real issue that I wanted to bring up to the health dept was the risk, however minute, of getting anything from my son's mist. Health Dept stated that they cannot "guarantee" anything, but for several days just practice proper hygiene, i.e frequent hand-washing; no mouth kissing my son; educate son to cough/sneeze in a tissue and to wash hands often.....basically what you need to be doing anyways or if your caring for an ill person. Not trying to scare or offend anyone.....just telling you my experience.

The nasal mist is made with "live" virus and recommended for children. That was on Fox News. Funny, now they are advising people to get the vaccine after trying their best to scare America. Fox must've joined the Liberal conspiracy.

I will personally be taking my shot. I have had many exposures both known and unknown at the time to novel H1N1. I am definitely a high risk group and will be taking the shot when it becomes available to me. Right now I'm feeling a little queasy and I'm hoping it's just food poisoning. I probably won't be able to get my shot until I have clinics again next month. Why aren't you in the high risk group? What kind of nursing do you do?
