Does Springfield Armory have a current production M1A

I have tried to order a current production M1A manufactured by Springfield Armory and my dealer sez his wholesalers do not have any in stock. I do not see any adds in the magazines either. Are they out of the M1A business even though they have them on their web site?

but why not e-mail the company and see what they say.

Papa, they haven't replied to any of my e-mails in the past. They must be very busy. I had a question on a V-10 I had and I never received a reply. I dumped it and have not purchased another SA handgun since. But, I will give it another try!!!

I received a reply from SA sales and they said:
Thank you for your interest in Springfield Armory Products. The M1A rifles have been in very high demand since last November. We are still building them as fast as we can but back orders are still high. We ship Standard and Loaded M1A’s each month but SOCOM models are in higher demand so we build more of them. When the destributors receive M1A rifles they generally already have orders waiting for them so they do not last long. We shipped some of these rifles as recently as this week. I would recommend putting a few on order with two or three distributors and then call them often about this model. Don’t just ask them if they have them in stock because they won’t have them in stock. Ask them to put one on back order for you and that you will take it as soon as you can get it.

Grumpy,
Fultons are doing a Halloween special discount on their M14, M1 and AR's at the moment, might be worth a look see. They say they actually have them in stock & ready to ship.
