Great opportunity, taking the plunge

Illinois has been one of the few states without a 4-H shooting program. I will retire from the military soon & want to fill some time doing something worthwhile to give back all the time I missed.

I'm signing up to go to 4-H shooting sports training Oct 23-25th.

The training schedule is 1800-2130 Friday, 0730-2100 Sat, & 0739-1400 Sunday.

We will stay in cabins on one of the 4-H camps, meals and materials suplied with the enrolment fee of $100.00

I have to provide information in regards to previous shooting sports background, experiences, competative experence, comunity activities, etc.

I think etc. covers G&G. If I have ever offered a shred of advice that has been usefull here, I would be honored if members would PM me with a recommendation. Time is short & I need to move fast. Sorry for short notice.

I look forward to the experience and will give a full report of course

Thanks,

Jerry

Thumbs up

Jerry...you have my full support, as indicated in the P.M. I've already sent to you.

Good luck and you're gonna enjoy working with that 4-H group. Those youngsters come from all walks of life...and need someone just like you to be one of their leaders.

Thats awesome Jerry! I was in 4H as a kid and you are right about the shooting sports, I don't remember having that as an option. I showed goats LMAO! and I entered a black barn cat in the pet competition HA! got 3rd place on the cat and I dont remember my goats ever winning much except causing me to have to do chores before getting on the school bus every morning!

If I can help you out in anyway, you got my number!

Mike

I wish we had a 4-H growing-up here in N IL. It might of kept me from trouble. I think its great that you give back to the community.

Jerry, Thanks from ALL of us for your time served!

That sounds like a great idea Jerry! In some of my upcoming leadership classes I have to do alot of volunteer hours as part of degree program. What a great way to earn some hours than to help you out! Heck we can setup a range on my property, not like I dont have room if you ever need it.

Let me know what I can do to help it sounds like a fun way to give back!

Taking a 1/2 day of vacation today to head for the training. I'm pretty jazzed about it.
