With the CZ or for that matter any of the rifles you mentioned in the original post, I would consider either the 2.5-7x Weaver rimfire scope or 3-9x AO Weaver rimfire scope. Another good one for the money is the Mueller APV 4.5-14x if you want more substantial magnification for target shooting. That is what I have on my CZ 452 Varmint 22LR. Have the others mounted on various other 22 rifles.

I think it's worth a little extra money to have a bit better quality scope without truly breaking the bank on something like Zeiss or whatever. The Leoupold rimfire scopes are excellent but cost a bit more than the Weaver. I would avoid Barska and Simmons. Do choose a "rimfire" scope versus a scope for a center fire.

Oh, by the way, I would choose the CZ over the Ruger 77/22. Some of the Rugers are tack drivers and others are so so. Don't have much expereince with the Browing T-bolt. Nice sporter rifle however and I feel sure it's accurate.

Don't overlook the CZ 513. You're going to hear a lot of crap about the non-adjustable trigger, but it really doesn't bother me, just treat it like a double-action revolver. Once your scope (get a scope, you wont regret it) is zeroed, you can hit anything you aim at inside 100 yards. I haven't tried anything further simply because I have nowhere to shoot at those distances. I got mine from Green Top for $230, new. If price is of the essence, go with the 513

I have got the rifle, scope and rings, but now I am having problems with the Bolt being too close to the Scope, to the point where I can't withdraw the bolt completely with the scope mounted.

What rifle did you end up going with? sounds like the Cz from the scope issue. I ended up having to get some really tall see thru mounts to put a scope on my cz. After that it looked really bad so I just left it with iron sights. If your dead set on a scope time to look into some see thru scope rings. I found mine of all places at a wal-mart, after looking at all sorts of sporting stores.

I bought my Ruger 77/22R back in 1984. It was and still is a tack driver. A complete joy to shoot!!! I recommend the 77/22 without hesitation.

BTW: Why so many 10/22 haters out there? Got mine back in 1982 and have had 1000's of rds through it with no problems. Have the minor factory changes in the rifle's design over the years had a negative impact on it's reliability & accuracy?

Probably because the average 10/22 tack driver is aiming at 3" round tacks And yeah, the older ones are FAR better than the crap Ruger has putting out for the last 20 years.

If someone gave me a new Ruger 10/22, I'd immediately go trade it in on a new Marlin 795...so fast it wouldn't be funny.

Especially since Marlin has a $25 rebate on the 795 that just started

CZ makes a great product out of the box. With a few fairly inexpensive mods (Look up Eric Brooks website) it will keep up with many more expensive rifles. I shoot an ultra lux that can shoot single holes at 50 yd and 1" groups with average scope at 100yd with win t-22 ammo. I just bought my 4th CZ 3 days ago, all different calibers and styles, all have performed far above expectations.
