Model 60 custom stock?

Does anyone make a nice wood stock for the model 60? I don't want the synthetic thing I see everywhere... Something different, but wood still....

edit - see update a few posts below...

shrek...

How much difference would you say there is between the 10/22 action and the model 60 as far as the inletting of the stock? If it would be reasonably easy to make the m60 action fit in the 10/22 aftermarket stock, that would really broaden my options...

I'd like a really nice custom stock for it, but as you stated in your post, there's not much available....

Found what I think I'm going to do. I'd still like to know about the 10/22 receiver, but I picked up a 7x2.5x48" piece of hard maple today...

I have a very limited edition thumbhole stock for my Marlin 60. Got it from boyds for like 50 or 60 bucks. Unfinished, but that was easy.

It was a pretty limited run, but it's worth checking out.

The 10/22 is a little wider, but I don't remember how much.

The Marlin 60 with LSHO is exactly 1" across the action housing,
and 3/4" from action rail to action rail.

The action housing fits in the stock 3/8" deep, with the action rails & guts going in a little deeper.

So yeah, you could take a stock meant for a 10/22, Pillar Bed the action & float the barrel...but know it'll be a fair amount of work.

But do-able

Check out your next gunshow for stock makers. Usually they have a set-up to copy any inletting you want based on your own stock.
