I'm looking for a padded soft case for my AP4. What is a good one for low cost? Factory hard case is too big and bulky. Anybody have any pics of their own set-up?
I bought two 42" Allen soft side cases from a local chain sporting goods store, $35. Your AP4 is the same size as my DPMS 6.8 Carbine, and mine fits with room to spare, even with the stock extended. Are you running optics of any kind? The Allen case (Allen is the manufacturer) fits scoped ARs, and has 4 side pockets for spare magazines, a sling on the opposite side, a zippered pocket outside, and an open pocket on the outside. They're long enough to hold my scoped 20" SPR AR with the fixed stock, so you could probably stuff more crap behind it inside the bag if you have the stock collapsed.
Well I bought the Allen 42" case. Its exactly what you said, perfect for my AP4. I will taks a pic when I find my battery charger for my camera...grrrr.
Somebody always moves things around here, they just cant leave their fingers off my stuff. Oh well, it'll show up soon. The factory hard case is just too big for carrying around in my Explorer with my 3 kids stuff too.

OK..here is the case I bought on recommendation from jrswanson1. I love it, rifle fits great, mags are alittle tight for 308 size mags but no problem, has long zippered pocket for my cleaning kit, and a small pocket for ear plugs or whatever. Thanks for the recommendation, you were spot on!
