Gunfight Rules and Factualisms

1. Bring a gun. Preferably bring at least two guns and bring all of your friends who have guns.

2. Anything worth shooting is worth shooting twice.

3. Only hits count. the only thing worse than a miss is a slow miss.

4. To shoot fast is fine, To shoot accurate is finer.

5. Move away from your attacker, Distance is your friend.

6. If you are not shooting you should be moving - communicating - Reloading.

7. Someday, Someone may kill you with your own weapon, But they should have to beat you to death with it becouse it is empty.

8. People shoot at you becouse they see you. If you can see them they can see you, find cover.

9. Always cheat Always win.

10. Watch their hands, Hands Kill. In God we trust , Everyone else keep your hands where I can see them.

11. Be Polite. Be Professional. Butt .. Have a plan to kill everyone you meet.

12. The fight won't be what you wanted or expected it just is what it is.

13. I shot it 7 times becouse the fist 6 didn't stop it from trying to kill me.

14. When your flashlight drops it will always point at you.

15. Your number one option for personal safety is a commitment to avoidance, deterrence and de-escalation.

16. Dont look at shooting the bad guy as a moral issue, think of it as Bad Gene Pool Deletion.

John.

John.
Number 6 is the toughest to get through to law enforcement officers who take the tactical course at the academy. I like the dropped flashlight rule too. You'll never know how much truth there is to that one.

Dont forget the difference between cover and concealment one either.

Both might obscure the enemy's view of you, but only one may stop incoming rounds.

Those are great rules! Avoid, de escalate....best advice of all. The best fight to be in is the one that was avoided!

My rule #1....long distance, scoped rifle, concealed "hide", equals NO Gunfight. LOL

I hope I have my sawed off shotgun if I'm put in a situation to where I have to shoot someone.
I'd prolly be shakeing so hard I'd need better odds hitting the Perp.
Thats a terrible thought...But I could do it...A.H

LOL, yeah, sounds more like a fond desire than a rule, especially "after" the shooting starts. All I had was an M9 service pistol when I was in Iraq. I liked to imagine that it would turn into something bigger, if and when a fight commenced.

That's O.K., he'd probably be shaking so hard you might have to call him an ambulance before you even had a chance to shoot ...

Amen, brother! I've read lots of articles by 1st-class law enforcement officials and personal defense trainers. This is one of the first things that they pound into you--avoid, avoid, unless you can't.
