news to me... FMK firearms?

So this gun was just added to the California Drop Test list.... first I have heard of the gun. looks like a standard wonder-nine, but the buttons remind me of that funky, laser-tagish South African gun some years back.

One more gun we are allowed to have in CA, so that is good in my eyes. Opinions?

Reminds you of a laser-tagish South African gun??? This is 100% America made. The founder has spent years in development to manufacturer a high quality pistol at price that most American can afford. We feel so strongly about this we even printed the Bill of Rights on the barrel.

Aha, I figured I would get someone from FMK on here !!!

No but seriously, the Vektor pistol had the button on the trigger, that is what brought it to mind. I also see a little influence from a 9mm that Heritage manufactured for a few years, it was a delayed blowback design, but then I could be wrong!

Anyway, back to your gun. I am really impressed that this is a company that has the determination to build a handgun in the glorious republic of Kalifornia! As for the inclusion of the Bill of Rights, I think it adds character and personality, and perhaps even makes a statement - if people don't like it, they can just use a sharpie (I won't even bring up censorship issues) and make it look tacti-cool.

I have actually had my heart set on a S&W SW9GVE (yes, I do like the gun) but now it has some competition. I would like to see my local shop bring some in for some hands on evaluation - I will be stopping by them all and dropping the product name.

I see all over the web silly nonsensical questions, but the few I can come up with are:
Is there an average trigger pull weight? (understand it is DAO, as the striker is compressed during travel)
Is the sight rail compatible with any current designs (resembles the Sigma and HK USP)?
Is the backstrap removable? (it looks separate, and someone hinted it could be recoil absorbing material)

Keep us informed, it seems that the company has worked very hard in designing a functional, yet litigation resistant handgun. Jokes and harrassment aside, no one should take this lightly, as it could be their states passing similar laws next!

I like it

Now, do you have a real capacity (15+) pistol for the REST of the country??

I'd like to take Kalifornia's gun laws & shove 'em up the nearest Kalifornia Legislator's dorsal anterior entrance...sideways

And Metronome...surely you've understood by now how lousy a gun the SIGMA is by now...haven't thousands of complaints been enough??

never heard of this company before, i like the bill of rights thing, however the rush quote on the web site reduces there credability in my eyes... not becouse of the content of that particular quote... he is just to much of a contraversal and deviding individual and i dont find it profetional for companys to connect themselves with people like that. also a better site would make me take them more seriusly.

Ain't nothing wrong with a little Rush Limbaugh

If you get past the demagoguery, he does have some exceptionally valid points. That's why he's so popular.

I'm actually surprised he hasn't cut back a bit on the rhetoric...but then...niether have the Democrats. He's just as loud, obnoxious & annoying as Pelosi...but makes more sense.

At least he can spell properly

Lol, I know I know, I think it is more of sentimentality and less of reason!. The Sigma was introduced when I was in high school, and I guess it just really stuck to me (still miss the CAT-9). More and more I think of a roundgun (SP-101, 3" GP-100 or a 3" S&W 64) but I still feel like I am required to get one of the newfangled otter-matic pistols... and cheap is OK by me!

I like the looks of the pistol and would consider buying one if it turns out to be as reliable as...I'll say a Glock though I would personaly never buy a Glock.

I would'nt want all the writting on the pistol if I bought one. I think enough people know how I feel about my country. I would die for it at the drop of a hat.
I just don't want all the writting on mine...A.H

That FMK 9C1 pistol looks sort of like a cross between a Hi-Point .45 ACP and a Glock. Has anyone here handled one, or actually seen one?

It might find a market here in New York State too. Remember thanks to the Patacki Gun Ban we are stuck with a 10 round magazine limit except on magazines manufactured before the ban took effect.

The writing is there for when things are slow and you get bored -- you can always read your gun!

I find it interesting the FMK guy was here for his first post and hasn't come back to even say howdy. Does his computer automatically search the web for posts about his guns or something?

I went to the FMK site and looked around a bit. I have to give the guy credit - he writes very well and very inspirationally. Heck, I'm wanting to buy one of his guns just to encourage him and hope others follow his philosophy.

Has anyone here had any experience with it?

I agree that the company is to be commended. Seems very well done. I'd love to see one in person. I think having the Constitution on there is cool. :-)

It's no surprise that we've not heard of this gun before though...the FMK news site says: Sept. 11, 2009 - United States Testing Lab approvals FMK Model 9C1.

I'd also like to see if there are any plans for a version for the free parts of the country (15+ capacity). I'd be very interested in supporting a company like this.

Doesn't look to bad but I'm not much on the Orange trigger piece. Didn't see a suggested retail price either. Did I miss it?

I dunno, but if you search the opinions and forums, they all have a company representative pop in when their guns are mentioned, thought I would get one going here.

Getting something like this started is going ot be the hard part, once some of the initial costs are recouped by new sales, I am sure there can be had an 'opinion-less' pistol, and when legal issues are covered hi-cap mags for the rest of you.
The slide looks like it could be milled less to make it heavy enough to handle the .40 S&W recoil too.

The only reps we never see are Marlin. And brother, would I like a WORD about their website

But that's a thread for another day.

The FMK's price is $429...just so ya know
The mags are proprietary (only work in it alone).
They do plan on producing a higher capacity pistol.

Dealer locator
FMK Firearms - 9C1 Pistol - Proudly American - 9mm handgun - 9mm pistol - polymer frames - double action pistol - 2nd amendment - Patriots Den

I like the writing, if a cop stops ya & gives ya any grief, just show him the relative Bill Of Rights quote right there on the side of the gun (SLOWLY & CAREFULLY...LOL) & assure him that you know your rights.

Thanks Shrek for the price and info. After reading the reps posts I thought it would at least be in the $300 something range. That price isn't that high but if I'm going to spend that much money. Then there's a few I would rather have.

I must say, I highly doubt that the user 'FMK Firearms' is actually a representative of FMK. Call me crazy, but I still don't believe it. I like the looks of the pistol though.

Smile a 'direct' link?

I just tried a 'Google' search and none of my searches went anywhere. Would not load.
I would like to know more about FMK

Okay; I found the web site whew

They need to work on the web site; ''spelling'' is about like mine in a couple of places;
I didn't find the ''magazine'' descriptions; Must be ''Calif'' spec's.????
