I found all the parts for the rear sight assembly, removed the scope and mount, and now have a proper rear sight. The three holes in the receiver for the scope mount are a drag, but they don't bother me that much. And hey, I can put the scope back on in minutes!
Took it to the range this weekend, and didn't do too bad for the first time out with her. Range was probably 30-35 yards or so, I didn't measure it. PRVI Partisan ammo. Definitely minute-of-helmet accuracy. There's a couple of .22lr holes here too from the grandkid.
Before we left, one of the 100 yard ranges opened up, so I tried a few at 100 yards off the beanbag. This shows 9 hits, but I only fired five off the bag, the other five were fired standing and off-hand. One was a flyer to who-knows-where.
Notice the three holes touching. I'm not going to claim any great feats of marksmanship or great deeds by the rifle, but there they are. And I actually have it on video too, but the video is pretty rough. My camera weighs about as much as a fart, and the tripod weighs even less. It was pretty windy, and the wind shook the camera pretty bad. Zoomed out to 100 yards, the video shakes pretty bad.
The video needs editing, and I don't know how to do that. But it shows those three holes appearing in the first five rounds fired off the bag. So, I guess Lil' Bubba is a pretty good rifle! Shoots better than this old man with poor eyesight, using a battle sight. Maybe I'll put the scope back on and give 'er another round. I know of an indoor 100 yard range in Denver that isn't windy!

You got a good shooter. You can plug the scope mount holes and they almost disappear.
Actually, I'm thinking of putting the scope back on so I can see what I'm shooting at. It's already been done, so it's not like I'm commiting sacrilege or anything by modifying the rifle. The scope and mount will fit with the rear sight installed, I don't know why they removed the rear sight to begin with.
I didn't buy it to hang on the wall, I want to shoot it. And I don't think it looks all that terrible with glass on it. Hitting what you're shooting at is always more fun, IMO.
Hell, since it's already "ruined" by the scope mount holes, maybe I'll refinish the whole thing and make it look new. Maybe.

Since it's already D/T'd you might just as well use them when you want.
Maybe get some blued screws to put in the holes when the scope is not in use.

They have heaps of LEs (more #5s than last spring)-just checked his website, and his #5 is identical to mine, at about $50 more.
They stock a very large selection of rifles, handguns and other militaria.
He imports many items from his Canadian business into the NH location
His nice selection of well-illum. photos for each gun (very accurate description for mine) put his items in a totally different class from many at GB.

Told a guy (up in VT or NH) on another website about "Joesalter" and he said that his wife hates me, and that is fine with me. Lucky guy to live near such a business.
Spreading my very limited gun gospel to benefit others. Still kind of new at this, but realize the shortcomings of some info and most photo selections on "GB" etc. It might not be worth it, saving $50 or even $100 with incomplete 'intell'.
Joesalter's prices seem pretty high, but I get the feeling that he only deals with genuine articles in top condition. I imagine you'd get the best available from there. Just my gut feeling.
