Just got back from testing some reloads in my Yugo 59. I tried one .310 dia. bullet and the rest were .308. All groupings were better than Wolf 122 HP.
Speer 123 gr SP .310" dia
Win brass
Fed 210 primer
27 gr RE7 powder
2.5" group @ 50 meters
3.38" group @ 100 meters
Speer 125 gr TNT .308" dia
Win brass
CCI 200 primer
27 gr RE7 powder
1.13" @ 50 meters
2.5" @ 100 meters
Nosler 125 BT .308" dia
Win Brass
CCI 200 primer
26.5 gr RE7 powder
1.25" @ 50 meters
3.0" @ 100 meters
Hornady 110 Vmax .308" dia
Win brass
CCI 200 primer
27 gr RE7 powder
2.5" @ 50 meters
5.75" @ 100 meters
Loads were based on previous SAFE LOADS IN MY RIFLE and taken from reloading manuals.
I was supprised to see the .308 dia. bullets to be better than the .310 dia. bullets. I expected worse.
Don't say slug!
Billy will show up with that gross looking blue thing, then Sam will think were talking shotgun slugs. There would go the neighborhood.
