While my Bersa 45 Thunder UC is in the shop being fixed I wanted a few questions answered as to it barrel and usage with lead bullets. The bore appeared to me to be polygonal rifled. I shot some 185 target factory loads and noted that there was leading in the bore...I cleaned it out. I have sent an email to Bersa in Argentina and in NJ; have yet to get an answer as to if the bore is polygonal and if it is...is it OK to shoot lead in it...My GLOCK says No, My CZ says No... They seem to be avoiding the answer.

Polygonal bores tend to lead up and this can cause pressure spikes which cause ka-booms.
I would not shoot lead thru it but if you do check and clean very often.

Rondog, I called the importer Eagle Imports in New Jersey, they did not have the answer and said they would email ME at my email address. I have the pistol presently being adjusted at T&A Gunsmithing in PA. Eagle Imports has not yet sent me their findings. When I sent the pistol for repair I sent a letter with the issues and questions hopefully they will have answers.
I work from 7am till 5pm it is not generally possible for me to CALL 'EM, email tends to fit my schedule. Thank you for the link if I get no replies I will give them a call.

Have you registered on their forum? They have a lot of knowledgeble people that should be able to answer your questions. Also, they have a "Tech Section" which is monitered by Colorado Gun Works who is the authorized warranty shop for Bersa. They can answer your question. It seems I've seen this question already addressed on their forum, but not sure. Go to bersatalk.com Registration is free.

That's why I recommended Co. Gun Works, they're the Bersa warranty shop. The importer wouldn't know squat, all they care about is getting the guns into the US and sold.
