I took the last paragraph to read, when translated from Beltway-Speak, "Yes, it's true. We are chasing a lot more threats to Obama than we ever had to under Bush, but we think most of them, like most of those against Bush, are made by blowhards. It's just that Obama seems to have brought a lot more blowhards out from under their rocks than Bush did."

Personally, I feel that there is a simple solution if the Secret Service really is as overstretched as the Boston Globe article claimed. Obama acts like a celebrity and not like a President. So, like a celebrity, he ought to pay for his own security. I'm sure the Nation of Islam would give him a special rate if he hired all his bodyguards from them, just for the 'prestige' they'd get from it.

That would let the Secret Service go back to its primary duty of protecting the nation's money supply. And while we are at it, we could transfer the Secret Service back to the Treasury Department, where it belongs.

Many years ago, my father, after watching a speech on TV by President Nixon, fired off a nasty telegram to the White House. Two days later, 2 police officers and one Secret Service agent came to the house to talk with my father. He NEVER sent another telegram after that. Haha I thought it was so cool that my father had garnered that kind of attention from the Government. I wish I had a copy of the telegram.

Just curious, of all the Presidents who were assassinated, what were their party affiliations? I am on dial up and don't have an hour to try to find it.

As the cost of computer technology has fallen (and accessibility to high-speed Internet service has spread), more and more people are spending more and more time online. Accordingly, these people are doing what people often do on the Internet: sending emails, communicating in chat rooms and on social networking sites such as Facebook and MySpace, Gun and Game.Com watching YouTube videos, etc. According to results of a recent study by the Simon Wiesenthal Center, these activities seem to be enhancing the scope of extremist groups' reach:

Hummmm...A.H ...LOL

One Thing To Remember About this Report....

The stories are not related to any report showing increased threats to the president, they are the comments of an author who is hawking a book coming out soon titled "The President's Secret Service." He also claims that the service is severely lacking in staffing, and requests for additional funding for the service, as well as full staffing, are being ignored by our leaders.

I'll offer one man's opinion on this, I think this is yet another effort to push forward the left's agenda. The claims are not linked to a report from secret service leadership, nor any government agency. The left tried to paint any and every gun owner as a possible threat to society previously. They with their allies in the media paint gun owners, former military members, people who are in organized religion (except Muslims) and a variety of groups as possible threats, calling us "right-wing extremists" whether we're part of the right or not.

What is their goal? I'd have to say it's an effort to turn public opinion against gun owners. They know polls show better than 75% of Americans support the right of law abiding citizens to own and use guns if they choose to do so. That high an approval rate for the second amendment scares the radicals in the left, so what better avenue to use than paint the other side with a broad brush, saying that anyone who opposes Obama is suspect to society.

I've argued this point with a few libs on a local message board, who swear that the reports of increased threats against Obama exist, my contention is until they can show me a report from the government officials involved I will question the validity of such numbers. Basic math shows a huge flaw in the claims. This guy says threats are up 400%, with 30 threats reported daily as compared to the Bush era's 8 threats a day. The claim is that this level of threats against the President, 30 per day add up to 30,000 threats against the President annually. I'm admittedly not a math major, but 30 x 365 sure ain't 30,000, no matter what math you use.

I read today that 'Bama's approval rating is about 53% now. Worst in 50 years. Barack Obama sees worst poll rating drop in 50 years - Telegraph#

Go figure.

It Just Seems To Me...

That the left, and their willing allies the major media are trying to paint any and all opposition to the policies of this administration as domestic terrorists. I see many from the left unwilling to even consider the fact that the way we see things going badly is pure paranoia, not based in reality.

I'll admit, I'm likely more disturbed at the contentions of the media than I am the direction this country seems headed toward. I fought for this country, I have never done anything to appear a threat to anyone. I don't agree with the President on the issues he seeks to change. I thought as a loyal citizen I was allowed that privilege. I recall the left insisting that protest of policies disagreed on in politics was patriotic. WHY is protest suddenly racist? Were the people of color who protested Bush racists? Not according to the left!
