Laser Device for SW9VE???

I am in need of some information that I know you good folks here will be able to give me. I want to buy a laser device for my Smith Wesson 9VE. Smith Wesson told me to start with the company Laser Devices. Are there any others out there that you would recommend? Thanks much.

Since I posted this last October 2009, Crimson Trace has come out with the LG-406 for the Smith Wesson Sigma series. Can't wait to put mine on tomorrow!! At $170, and no shipping, it surely beats the stuff from Laser Devices.

Hey woody, you mind posting a photo of that rig? I've been tossing around the idea of a laser for ours, of of my questions is how easily is the light activated?

Hi, Joe. The quickest way to get a pic is through the link at the bottom.
Notice the 360 degree rotation of the firearm, so you can look at it from different perspectives. The laser is front activated, as you can see from the circular button on the front of the grip. They call it "instinctive" activation, probably because as you tighten your grip on the firearm, the red light comes on. If you need anything else, please just say. Hope all is well, Joe.

Joe, I love it! It really does complement the gun. It's easy to use because you never have to worry about making sure your hand is in the right position. Just tighten your grip as you normally do, and aim. It is well worth the money. If your 9VE was for your wife (think you said that), she will definitely like it. I hope. How have you been doing? Nice to talk with you. Bob

You recall correctly! That is why we got it, though I have enjoyed the daylights out of it, and have done most of the shooting with it. One of the reasons that I have been interested in the laser sight is because she isn't as interested in target shooting and practice as I had hoped!

We've been doing well, thank you. How 'bout you? Too bad you don't live a little closer, we could burn some ammo through our Sigmas together!

That would be fun! Maybe some time when we are in Michigan visiting our son, I will give you a call and see what your schedule is like. Heck, I'm half-way there from Pennsylvania, and never been to Wisconsin before.

My .40 Sigma came with this laser sight and an adapter to fit the groove on the Sigma. It also fits my Ruger SR-9C without the adapter.

It is a Laserlyte V2.

Woody, I have two new guns I haven't shot yet. The Sigma and a Ruger SR9C. I did wear out the batteries on the laser sight so I need a new supply.

I've been having eye operations and difficulty getting to the range as every time my shooting buddies decide to go I also have a horse show to go to as my Grand daughter rides and I'm her support team.

I've got 400 rounds of .40 and 600 9mm just waiting to be burned up.

I'm pretty sure both of these guns will do fine as there are many glowing reports on the reliability and lack of malfunctions on both. They are both made in America so I like that.

Hi, Dan, did you get the offer of "free batteries for life" when you bought your laser? I think Crimson Trace was offering this, but not sure of for how long!
