Question do you lose stuff?

does this happen to you?
i will have something in my hand.
set it down
and never see it again.
for instance.
i own 5 pairs of scissors ....
but i dont have any scissors.
i have been sitting at my desk and set something down .
and never seen it again.
(my desk isnt cluttered and i live alone)
if i put a tool down.
i have to go buy a replacement.
what brought this train of thought on is i have purchased three sets of nail clippers.
but i dont have any.
it would be funny if it wasnt so #$% %@&* expensive.

Talking

I have your scissors here. One pair on my computer desk, one on my reloading desk, one in the kitchen, two in the livingroom.......

Yep, I tend to 'misplace' stuff too.

I agree with you Billy. I lose everything. I try to blame it on my kids but I really think there's a little troll that takes stuff and hides it just to piss me off. LOL. Lost the remote to mmy TV 3 hours after I bought it. Couldn't blame anybody else, I was home alone. At work I scream and yell when one of my tools comes up missing, until someone points to where I set it down and forgot about it.

All true

Sir; YES; and I don't live alone

Awhile back; a friend came over to see some of my mess; We looked at this; we looked at that; Then It dawned on me; I was missing Super Redhawk 7.5" .44. hmmmm; I looked and looked; everywhere. I became alarmed, called to police to protect my CC.
My son; Dad; it is here; YOU have put it somewhere;
ONE last time; I looked; and 'lo and behold' underneith a piece of foam in my travel box???
Called police back; ''egg on face"; and we all had a good laugh at the expense of ???? me

Then lost; my Glock; and a .45; in the closet; another mess; and uh-oh. lolol

My sweet wife does; put my stuff away it is ''gone'' forever

There are frequent times where I lose stuff that is right in front of my face! Yep, I live in organized chaos but I put things down and then look for hours only to find them, sometimes days later, right where I was looking! Sometimes I swear there are gremlins in my house that take things and hide them only to feel sorry for me and replace them right where I thought they would be. Either that or I need new glasses! LOL!

Neo, I lost a Mosin once. I thought I knew where my 37 Tula 91/30 was hiding. I looked. Nope. I scoured my entire apartment. Nope. I looked everywhere I could think of looking....nope. I was starting to suspect that someone had taken it. Then I looked.....ready?!....in my gun safe. WOW! There it is!!!! I felt so silly!

Billy, you can use that drug culture exuse only for a couple years. Then the brain detoxes and gets better. Don't ask. BUT, keep in mind...based on the information you post and the way you post it, you are not a slouch in the smarts department. Highly intellegent people tend to be very absentminded.

Shoot, now, what did I do with my coffee?

Oh, Billy, that is easy to explain!

See, nobody ever uses 11mm sockets. They know you, so they sneak over and slip their 11mm sockets into your tool box to free up space in their tool box for those 5/8", 3/8" deep sockets the students keep borrowing, or that they keep breaking because they use an impact wrench on a regular socket!

So, watch your buddies....it is their fault.

you all remember what sherlock holmes said right?

when you have eliminated the improbable whatever remains, however impossible, must be the truth?

so it must be the ghosts.

Yes, you start at the prostate and work your way up a little bit at a time.
I have not tried this myself, but have heard of it being done in isolated locations.

I set something down, my wife sets something down on top of it making it INVISIBLE. I usually just look for something she might have set down and look under it. Or in the stinkin' dishwasher. That's wear my coffee cups end up. Sounds reasonable you say? NOT when the sucker still had hot coffee in it when she snagged it!

It's not you billy.

The perfectly logical explanation is you are being plagued by Shearsome the Scissor Troll.
