Noble & Barnes = Disappointment.

The last twenty out of thirty days have been ...So yesterday, on another day, I decided to visit Barnes & Noble to buy a gun book...

There they where, all 13 of them in the sports department...

Yes, eye high, about 12" in length..... There was only three of any interest to me...

A large hardback, cataloging all of Smith & Wesson guns...Color pictures, with descriptions and market values...An excellent book for $40.oo if one is favoring a S&W.

A softback ($28.oo) on 1911 pistols with nothing, but black and white pictures....Perhaps worth buying, if someone is planning on purchasing a 1911..

Another softback ($15.oo), on handgun self defense for females...

There were also several gunsmithing books on the rack.

It appear that hear in Minnesota, there is little retail demand for gun books..

I bet, I will have better luck on the Internet......

I quit going to B&N back when the big ruckus about them selling child porn as art books came out a decade ago. B&N refused to pull the books from the shelves...even though the photographer in question was convicted.

I go to Books-A-Million now

I generally get most of my books from online retailers. It gives me a much broader selection than any bookstore.

B & N is a very liberal outfit. Have a reputation of hiding or not even handling books written by conservative authors, especially when they are on a political theme. No wonder they din't have much on firearms.

Barnes & Noble is a lot like Home Depot. This first time you think about DIY stuff at home, HD is like heaven for the inexperienced craftsman and it seems like they have everything you could possibly need. Then you learn about quality and specialty tools and what you really need for a real job and you have to go somewhere specialized. If I need a special book, I'll hit amazon first. As stated above, they have just about everything (or at least they can order it).

B&N sucks they are very liberal in their selection and how they treat their customers that buy conservative material. not to mention about half of the staff at every B&N store I have been to had a heavy lisp.

Amazon is the best and cheapest place to buy any book, new or used. Can't beat the free shipping.

Hasn't B&N made anti-gun donations in the past?

Very unfortunate to hear... Do not care for Amazon much, however, will purchase future items on line....

I am not interested in supporting liberal companies with my hard earned dollars...

Just add to my ping-ding-aling list, is B&N and the golden arches.

Right. I don't have much success with physical book stores any more. I almost always buy on line. If you watch, you may be able to get shipping cost reductions, etc. But the selection you have at your finger tips from on line vendors far outweighs the shipping costs.

Golden Arches? I assume you mean McDonalds? Haven't heard anything about them. Course, only thing I go there for is coffee. I don't have an issue with a company being liberal - it's a free country. What I don't care for is if they are actively pursuing liberal goals, particularly gun control through lobbyists to congress. I don't want profit from what I buy to go to that type activity. That's why I don't buy levis or dockers.

Well, I bought I gun book there yesterday. They had quite a few on various subjects. As far as books from so-called conservative writers, they had a stack of them from that clown, Beck.

Beck and other conservatives like him are well supported by a strong fan/customer base who are willing to put the wallets behind their beliefs. A store may exercise some discretion in what they stock, but they need to stock what sells, too. You can't make money from stuff that just sits on the shelf.

Yes, I do not buy LiberalLevis anymore either...

Mitchr, McDonald is a very proud sponsor of LaRasa, meaning "The Race."

Woody, in the main, knowledge out weights the cost of books and or shipping.

I agree with Mitchr-
If I even bother looking in their store, I also notice it hard to find any books by conservatives prominently displayed. So I usually grab quite a few books by conservatives and place them over the great many liberal books displayed all over the place.

Its just my silent protest and hopeful promotion of some good conservative values.
