Not that you are planning on getting it through Amazon, but in case you are, rather then get it there and help keep Amazon in business, why not get it from somewhere like here or some other similar place of business, or maybe even a local business? Just a thought...
if you wanna start out by just target shooting i have a tasco varmint scopes (mil-dot) on all my guns. 30-06, 22-250 and my .22 LR holds zero very well very rugged and its 6-24 magnification it's awesome lookin at a badger from 100 yards makes it seem like a grizzly through it haha. im getting a remington model 700 VTR soon and i am for sure getting another one of those scopes for it ;].

Nothing at all. But if people buy/keep buying from places like Amazon or eBay even rather from places like SWFA or your local gun shop, they just might not be able to stay in business. And places like SWFA and the like sell far more things we may need and or want and I don't see places like Amazon or eBay selling those things anytime soon.
It's just a personal preference on my part is all I guess. Even if I have to pay a few bucks more, I try to buy from my local gun shops or places like SWFA if I order online. Because like I said, they go under, I highly doubt Amazon or eBay are going to all of a sudden start selling the other things we need and or want.
But there is nothing wrong with Amazon nor do I have any problems with them. It was just a suggestion was all; to help keep those who care about the same things as we do and that we know are pro 2nd Amendment rather then someone that probably isn't or might not be as pro 2A as we know a gun shop or online place like SWFA is. You know your local gun shop isn't all of a sudden going to stop selling gun scopes or whatever else that Amazon could just stop selling anytime they wanted. Like eBay has done.

And on a side note, I sent you a link to a scope I ran across while window shopping gunbroker.com. It's a Leupold, it's used but the price is right. Worth looking at anyhow.
Check your private messages (you can get to them just above where you logout at, in the upper right corner of the forum). I sent you the link there.
Let me know what you think? Hopefully it doesn't sell before you check it out?
And by the way, beautiful rifle you ordered.

Thanks for the info GM. I normally do prefer to buy from local shops, however I live in Carlsbad, NM. Nearest "decent" shopping is found 70+ miles from me. Nearest full shopping available is a good 170 miles away.
I don't mind saying that a little bit of me takes pleasure in buying from online sources as it reduces the power (just a little) of the small minded city fathers here.

i cant afford to pay twice as much for an item because i want to support the mom and pop.
i saved $200 on the last scope i bought .
because i didnt buy it in town.
and since i am on a roll.
I prefer to buy made in USA but don't totally avoid buying anything made elsewhere, none of us could buy much if we took that extreme. Nor will I pay exhorbitant prices for something just because it was made in the US - my own income is too far below the wages of most of our union workers for that kind of home-grown welfare purchasing phylosophy. But, when I can both buy US AND save money, it's a no-brainer!

What i see wrong with amazon.com is found at the "Freedom States Alliance" web page; there is a link which donates 5% of your amazon purchase to the manipulative toolbags at FSA. If amazon agrees to support an organization like that, then they dont get my money. I even by my textbooks at a university bookstore ($$$$$$$) instead of amazon.

I don't know about being on a roll, neither here nor there, and you have a right to buy anywhere you want.
But when that or those in town shops are gone, and those online places, for whatever reason/s, like say the government makes buying firearm related stuff online illegal, or they tax the crap out of it or whatever, then when that or those local shops are no longer there, well, I suppose you, and others can look back at this post?
Not saying it's going to happen, and not saying I haven't done the same for the same reasons, and all I'm trying to say is I try to spread the wealth is all.
And I'd rather have me spread the wealth with my own monies then have someone else tell me where I can spend it... That was just a dig at you know who.
And just because something was assembled in the US in my book doesn't make it made in the US. Or when an item has parts to it made in say China then assembled in the US, that too in my book doesn't make it made in the US. Sure, it gave a person a job, but some of the money still went to that other country.
Finding things 100% Made in the USA is getting harder and harder to find. Hell, even Leupold is having China make some of the glass for their scopes.
I'm just saying.
