Would have to be one of two. My trusty Marlin 30-30 with 1-4x scope for brush, and my Browning BAR 270 for open country.

In the state where I live, there are 3 options. Shot-gun with slugs, Muzzle Loaders and specific caliber hand guns. For me, I prefer the 50 cal. ML. Better range & accuracy than the others.
As for neighboring states with mostly State & Federal Forest Land, I prefer a Marlin 30-30 or my 44 mag. carbine. They are light, quick, accurate and more than adequate.
Just my 2 cents.

It would have to be my Remington 30-S in 30-06 with 165 grainers and a close 2nd is the 243 Winchester W/100 grainers, that is in rifle zone. For shotgun zone the H&R ultra slug hunter w/260 grain Winchester supreme partition golds........

My go to rifle is a Remington Model 725 in .243 Winchester that was made in 1960. Ammunition for the last 11 years is Federal Premium 100 gr Nosler Partition. Back up (2nd choice) is a Remington Model 721 in .270 Winchester that was my dad's. Ammunition is Winchester 130 gr SilverTips (not the Power Points). Not sure what year (made from 1948-62).

my first choice is my Rem. 760 .30/06 pump with a tasco 3x9 scope. I shoot my 150 gr reloads for deer and 180 or 220 s for anything larger than deer.

Either my .54 Hawken or my J.C. Higgins Mauser in .30/06.
The Hawken was made by a friend of mine, and the 'Higgins is one of the best rifles I have ever had. F.N. action, chromed lined barrel, put together by High Standard.

Wink Favorite deer rifle

Either my Marlin 336 in .30-.30 or my Remington 770 7mm.-08. Both are scoped and equipped to do the job comfortably.

Did someone on here say they have a rifle made by Husquavarnna? (sp) ISN'T THAT A CHAINSAW COMPANY? i kinda find that funny. Not picking on anybody it just seemed odd, I have never heard of it. BTW my favorite is my 300 WSM Weatherby Vanguard with a 150 gr SST in front of 67.5 grains of IMR 4350
