The University of Kentucky Football team has an annual Military appreciation game. Yesterday was this years installment they had A Armored battalion out of Fort Knox and A basic training detachment from Knox. The Soldiers and their families get in for free and the Armored Battalion got to make the tunnel for the team to run through before the game. this has become a tradition at UK. And let me tell you this makes alot of soldiers UK fans, I sat next to them this year and they made the student section look pathetic they were loud and proud all night I have never heard On On U of K sung with so much fire lol. I talked to several of them from many different states and all of them said that it was one of the best experiances they have ever had. So I was wondering If there are alot of colleges that do this. because I think it is one of the best things a football team can do to give back to the people that give us our freedom.
God bless Kentuckians, for showing their support of our beloved troops!!!
The Minnesota Golden Gophers have Code Pink Day, with the board of regents dress as pink cheerleaders...
I think fans of other college football programs should petition their respective AD's to host events like this more often. Because it helps soldiers and their families feel like the community supports them. plus it works in the schools favor because you get people from all over the country to attend your gae which will naturally widen your fan base. And I think what the board of regents did at Minnesota was great my mother died from that terrible disease and i support anything to help find a cure.
